5 Best American Restaurants in Lander

“Chester's chicken is served at the hot food counter of Mr. D's supermarket.The service was prompt and cordial. The chicken was crispy on the outside and both tender and moist on the inside. The pieces were large and the seasoning was very tasty.I got the 3 piece meal which provided more than enough food to satisfy me for dinner and breakfast the next day.The prices are much more reasonable than the major fried chicken chains.The other dishes at the Mr. D's hot food counter looked good. I only wish I had a few more days in Lander to try them.“

“The best staff ever! Even when I spilled about 18 cups of ranch on the floor they helped clean it up and assure me it was okay! The people taking our order were so sweet and bringing out the food were so hype! The food was delicious and I had a fantastic experience!“

“This is a quaint little restaurant/ diner. It's attached to the hotel, but with its own entrance. When you walk in, it asks you to wait to be seated. We had to wait about a minute or so before the hostess came out, and she was a young hostess who fumbled her way through.
There was one waitress over the entire area, but there were not a lot of people. I never felt like she was running ragged trying to do it all on her own.
I asked for recommendations, and went with Kels-Kels Sandwich which is basically their take on a Philly style sandwich. My little ones got chicken strips, and the mac and cheese. All of these came with fries. The fries were fresh cut but I wish they had been salted out of the fryer. At least on mine and not on the kids' meals.

They say they are more of a southern type food place with mostly scratch made food but they did not have sweet tea and the food for the kids meals was not scratch made, save for the fresh cut fries. The mac and cheese was just blue box mac and cheese and the chicken strips seemed like the frozen kind that every restaurant has. That was very disappointing.

That said, I enjoyed my meal. The sandwich was really good. Lots of melted cheese. I wish the green peppers were cooked a little more, they were still pretty crunchy but the onions were cooked very well. The hoagie roll was lightly toasted on the inside and still super soft on the outside. Well worth it.“
