I can’t ever remember raving over a BLT sandwich and tater tots. There was no skimping on the bacon which has happened to me at many other places. The tater tots were cooked to just the right crispness. Friendly staff. OMG what a great place. Will be stopping by the next time we pass through! Thank y’all!!!

We had a double patty melt with fries and the elkhorn cheesesteak with salad. I feel the $2 up charge for the salad should at least include it being in a bowl/plate by itself -served before the meal, instead of a small serving spoon of lettuce with toppings —-that was definitely a surprise—-not worth the extra charge. The patty melt was tender and juicy. The cheesesteak was underwhelming for the price but good. I felt it should have been meatier for $19 with up charges for adding jalapeños and mushrooms. Service was a little slow but adequate. I think the staff ought to google cheesesteaks around the country and up their game.

Been a huge fan of the Elkhorn for years and we drive for over an hour each way to visit... recent ownership change has ruined it. Since then, we've had reuben eggrolls served still frozen inside, garlic battered cheese squares still frozen inside, cheesesteak sandwich cold and cheese unmelted, the beef is tougher and almost gamey since new ownership. Pretty bummed with how its gone downhill because it used to be our go-to for food in Park County.
Edit: I do appreciate the professional response. We visited on Friday, February 20, 2026 around 6:30 PM. We are not looking for a free meal and you have not lost a customer, but I felt it may be helpful if it was brought to light. Five of our last 6 visits have been problematic. My word choice was poor when suggesting new ownership was the cause, when it could be everything from suppliers to cook staff. My apologies. I certainly hope it gets back on track for my favorite cheesesteak in the world.

Oh, the food is amazing! We had 2 types of soups- excellent!, burgers (buffalo-elk),, and blackberry pie with ice cream. Everything was 11/10! The atmosphere of the place is top notch, it gives this small city an absolutely unique vibe, and the staff was so nice! Highly recommend! Can't stop missing it!
