Deacons Reviews
It used to be a really good place. The salad bar is sad, and way overpriced. The cottage cheese tasted bad. The service was not good. We had to find another server to get us things because our server didn't come back.
Used to really enjoy this place, but sadly we won't be back.
We were blown away by the food quality and variety. The avocado toast was amazing. The owner was helping serve due to the lunch rush. She was sincere and amazing. Absolutely will return.
Were there around 9:30 am. Restaurant was not busy. Placed our order and after waiting 20 minutes offered to pay for our coffee as we had decided to leave. I felt bad for the waitress as she had done her job but said she understood. Patrons in one booth stated they had waited an hour after ordering before getting their food. Another guy said he’d placed his order 40 minutes before and was still waiting for his food.

Deacons is a restaurant in Torrington that offers a mix of classic favorites and new menu ideas, including protein bowls. The prices may be a bit steep, with some meals feeling small for the cost. The soup and salad bar is a highlight but may lack options and have cleanliness issues. Some dishes, like the roast beef, are well-executed, while others, like the chicken fried steak, may be hit-or-miss. Breakfast options are available, and pancakes are a standout. The breakfast menu, including pancakes and breakfast burritos, is popular with many guests. The avocado toast has received high praise for its quality and variety. The owner is often seen helping serve during busy times and is appreciated for her sincerity. Overall, Deacons is a decent option, but diners may find better value elsewhere in the valley, as service can sometimes be inconsistent and waiting times vary. Despite this, many still recommend the place for its good food and friendly staff. Visitors often praise the fresh, laid-back atmosphere that feels just like the good old days, with friendly and fast service. The breakfast is highly recommended, especially the pancakes and crispy bacon cooked just as requested. The homemade cinnamon rolls and the big little pancakes are favorites, and the salad bar is also enjoyed during lunch.
