Stopped here in the early afternoon while on a vacation trip with my folks. The owner, Laura, was a terrific hostess and the bar is comfortable -- picture a classic Western-movie saloon, but with neon signs and refrigeration. If I were a local I'd be a regular, but since I'm nowhere near, all I can do is recommend it. I don't know if I've been in a bar I liked better, and I've been in a few.
If you're on Highway 34, Shamrock Saloon is the only place to stop...so STOP! If it's Friday night, it's family style food and plenty of it. Laura can really cook as well as tend bar. The people are great, the beer is cold. On Tuesday dinner is taco Tuesday with home made tacos 2$ each. Sure, she'll make you a taco salad, but she'll poke fun at you while she's doing it. some Tuesdays are hot dog Tuesdays with two fools hot dogs and their Grill... Very cool place in the middle of nowhere. Mitch was very engaging and entertaining, lots of cool stuff scattered around the salmon and outside. It's a must stop. Bikers welcome.
