Menu is extremely plain, but the quality of food is adequate and the service is prompt enough. It's all counter seating, on stools with no backs. A hostess seats diners but, although the restaurant was full, we were seated within about 5 minutes at lunchtime on a busy day in August.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at the Canyon Fountain and Grill was really disappointing. I ordered a take-away burger that ended up being one of the worst I’ve had in a long time — flavorless, dry, and just not worth the $16 price tag.
On top of that, it came with a small serving of chips instead of fries. I asked if I could get fries with my take-out order (since they clearly serve them in the same kitchen to the sit-down guests), and was told no — even though there was clearly room on the tray and I was happily willing to pay for them.
For a quick-service spot in such a popular location as Yellowstone, you’d expect at least decent food and basic flexibility. Sadly, this felt more like a cash grab than a quality dining option.
Mark my words, if you want a yummy meal, try somewhere else. This is all 50s diner style with no 50s diner service.

Stopped in at Canyon Fountain & Grill while visiting Yellowstone and really enjoyed it. The food was great—simple, classic diner-style and exactly what we were looking for after a busy day exploring. The service was good too—staff were friendly and everything came out pretty quickly.
The location is super convenient, and the retro diner vibe inside added a fun touch. It’s a cool little spot with a nostalgic feel, right in the heart of the park.
Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving a casual bite with character

Burger was ok, but the bison burger did not taste very different than a normal burger. Fries had been sitting out for a while and were not good. We asked for a fresh order and they made one at no extra charge. Thank you :) But even fresh, not the best.

Crowded in like a sardine can. Food is 3/10 would not recommended. Everything overcooked and tasteless. The fries seemed like they were cooked this morning and refried for the order. The cafeteria would’ve been a better choice

I would realistically give this place a 2.5 stars, but I’ll just go 2 because there are a lot of cons.
But… I mean you can’t really trash on it too much, because what other food options are there out here honestly?
But here’s some pros, and cons:
Pros:
1. Insanely fast speed to get your food
2. Nice staff
Cons:
1. Extremely busy
2. Very crowded and awkward seating environment
3. SOOO expense (I’ll talk about this later)
4. Very, yes VERY mediocre food (Maybe even less than mediocre)
5. Price doesn’t make sense with the food taste
I’ll expand on the cons here…
1. Just so busy, nothing much else to say
2. You’re sitting right next to somebody because it’s a bar style layout, that wraps around.
3. $16 for a school cafeteria cheeseburger, no thanks!
4. Food tasted like the definition of “OK”
5. Again… price is wayyy too much. $75 for 2 burgers, a chicken sandwich, and a kids PB&J, like WHAT??!
Final conclusion… don’t waste your time and money on this place, it’s unfortunate to say, but I’d rather go into the grocery store and make a picnic.

Peak example of what’s wrong with ‘food’ in the country, the most processed stuff you’ll ever have with kids on iPads just flinging chips on the floor which accumulate as they’re left. There’s no competition, so they can just charge what they want. Out of the 7 states on my trip, the worst location sadly, made us leave to Cody to restock and cook ourselves
Great breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns, Morgen was super nice!
Good place to get something to eat quick. Burgers could be better but it was alright. Atleast the most decent place to get something to eat.

This is one of the only decently rated places to eat in the Canyon Village area, so we wound up eating here a LOT. To go plates come with chips but the sandwich is still hot. Price is high, but that’s what you get with food in the parks.
The pulled pork is excellent, the burger is good, and the chicken sandwich is dry but still pretty flavorful.

Nice fast service here. We enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches. It’s pretty greasy food though
Stopped into Canyon Fountain & Grill twice while visiting and staying at Canyon Village — great little diner-style spot right inside the park and general store.
I actually loved sitting at the classic counter; it really adds to the experience. First night I had the chicken burger — a bit different with no sauce on the bun and salad on the side, but the fries were super fresh and the server was amazing, even gave me some great tips for exploring the area.
Second visit I had chicken and chips — still good, but not quite as tasty as the first meal. Overall, a fun, casual option if you’re visiting and want that classic diner vibe with friendly staff.

Cool spot but the burgers are flavorless and overcooked. Huckleberry float was amazing
