The food was fine but overpriced unfortunately . But my biggest concern is not the food but the appalling service from the greeter. She consistently gave customers cold shoulders, and turning a blind eye to our queries. We had waited almost an hour to get a seat, we sat in the lobby right in front of her while waiting for the seat. We could clearly see that she wasn’t interested in her job

Food was delicious. Spent $100 for two people. Got two appetizers and two entrees. Wasn't offered a dessert menu so after we left back to our room I decided to go get some dessert. The older lady who was the hostess was not friendly at all. Then after getting 3 ice creams "to go" I gave her my money and she asked if I want my change! For what? Handing me a bad of ice cream with our even any spoons or napkins. Yes I'd like my change for my to go dessert, which really should have been offered after our dinner that we paid $120 for after tip.... Dinner great, hostess not. And not pleased that our waiter didn't offer a dessert menu when we heard him offering it to other people.

Menu claims to have gluten free options but the small print says no. Celiacs be aware. This isn't trustworthy.

My wife couldn't eat there but said I should along with our son. The food I had was good but they should not lie on their menu about having gluten free food.

Dinner menu is very strange. Jackfruit tacos? Airline chicken? Overpriced for the quality of food. Breakfast buffet is about on par with a Marriott hotel “complimentary”breakfast that you would receive at a Courtyard or equivalent. Same type of quality and selection for nearly $20 pp. Wait staff is great but you can tell they are understaffed and overworked.

Way overpriced, food was disgusting. Nasty mushy mac-n-cheese. Food at the bar no labeled. They were always out of something and would refill until you asked them. Terrible service. Not worth the money. Would not recommend and would never come back.

If you want a great place to eat in Yellowstone, there are only a couple of places that do not take reservations and this place was wonderful.

Um, yea so everything was pretty perfect. Yes it's expensive...it's in a national park. You have to rate the restaurant under the idea that everything is priced about 20% less....how's the value then? An equivalent restaurant outside of the park would be about that much less at most. Now, I thought the dishes were priced pretty perfect. The cocktails are too pricey, but everything I had tasted good. A huckleberry whiskey cocktail, a take on a margarita called Firehole Drive, and I had the duck leg entree, and the ravioli appy. All good! Really good. And I have been dining solo at most places for almost 3 years now. I have been on a trip this week for my 40th, and this was my big splurge dinner. I usually get basically ignored as a solo diner by most wait staff, especially on this trip, but NOT at Obsidian. Kathy did a great job. I will definitely choose this place again, probably go for lunch tomorrow 😋

The food is well above average for a national park restaurant, but what really stood out was the fantastic service and atmosphere! The bison short rib was very tender and flavorful. My husband absolutely loved the lentil soup and trout. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, and were very accommodating of our infant.

A real restaurant not focused on burgers and sandwiches, that doesn't require booking reservations 30-60 days in advance? I'm in!

FOOD: A reasonably broad menu with real food on it, emphasizing game meat in a number of cases. I had a tasty boar ragout, a nice Caesar salad, and some great onion rings for apps. Elsewhere around the table were trout, bison tartar, and duck ravioli apps. Everyone enjoyed everything, including the cocktails.

SERVICE: Friendly and helpful.

AMBIANCE: Classy contemporary Western decor, a definite upscale feel.

The prices, of course, were high -- four of us, with apps and a couple of drinks, came in at $350 -- but I didn't feel as resentful here, given the quality of the servings, as I have elsewhere in the park.

Pro Tip: Because this is one of the only upscale restaurants in the park that doesn't require (in fact, doesn't take) reservations, it's good to get there about 15-20 minutes before its 5pm opening to get in line at the desk.

Net-net, will definitely tag this place to eat at during our next vacation at Yellowstone.

Parking: Plenty of large parking lots around, servicing the whole Old Faithful complex at Yellowstone.

Wheelchair accessibility: Appears fully accessible, at least as accessed from within the Snow Lodge.

The elk ravioli were absurdly good. Friendly fast service, mostly reasonably priced food, definitely reasonably priced good beer. This place deserves a higher rating.
