“The place is quiet, clean, and has a nice ambiance. The servers are friendly and accommodating. Servings are huge. My family always orders katsu for each of us on top of sushi and tempura. You should try all the variety of sushi. Looks like we love most of it. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for some quiet, good food with good company. ?“

“The food is delicious but the new staff need a bit of work to come up to scratch.We've had lunch and dinner several times here since this location opened off Lonsdale, replacing the one further up the road. The sushi is always terrific, a nice blend of classic and inspired creations with fresh ingredients. We noted some unusual items not usually on a traditional sushi menu but variety is the spice of life, so why no?The atmosphere is bright and new with lots of windows and an outside patio with heat lamps (once the weather dries and warms up) but the tall divider made it a bit hard to see the door from our seats. We mentioned we were expecting friends to join us and we had stand up each time someone new walked in order to see over the divider. Minor annoyance; we'll ask for seating on the other side next time.We understand good staff are hard to keep but new staff need a bit more awareness training. The table we were lead to wasn't cleaned before we were seated and we weren't offered tea. (Tea came in ordinary mugs; I miss the nice china teacups.) After the food arrived, we had to ask for small plates and the extra wasabi we requested when we ordered.During the meal, we had difficulty getting the waitress's attention (for more tea) and to clear the empty plates. She didn't inquire if we wanted anything else before she brought the bill. We might have... Small tweaks make the difference between mediocre and very good service and a larger tip.Overall, a nice spot for sushi conveniently located in North Vancouver, worth the short walk east from Lonsdale Ave, at 15th Street, across from Lions Gate Hospital. Limited street parking during the day but usually available within a block or so after 6 pm.“

“Had the Salmon and Tuna Chirashi, which was reasonably priced at $16.95. While the sashimi was more thinly sliced than at other establishments, it came with 4 of each fish, as well as some tamago and avocado slices. Was a filling enough portion for dinner and came with a generous bowl of miso soup (double in size from what I usually get at other Japanese restaurants!). We found the Chicken Yakisoba to have a good portion of battered chicken, but it was too saucy for our liking. It was quite liquid-y and thinner than what we're used to. The California Roll was good, it came with lots of imitation crab meat in the ratio to cucumber/avocado. Service was fairly prompt and food came out in a timely manner. Would return if in the area!“

“Solid choice for sushi nearby Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge. The lunch bento box is a great deal and includes choice of teriyaki, salad, california roll, tempura, and miso soup. All were delicious but especially the tempura. Grouse Roll was delicious as well.“

“This is a nice little spot for sushi. It’s probably best for take out but they do have a few tables. The staff are really nice. The food is tasty and priced fair. It’s a busy shop so the sushi tastes very fresh. I gave it five stars because it is exactly what it should be and they are doing a good job at it!“

“Wife and I enjoyed a very nice lunch at Genji today. We started with tempura soba, kind of 2 dishes in one. An assortment of lightly battered tempura on one plate and cold buckwheat soba noodles with ice cold dipping sauce on another. Very good.The salmon kama was another highlight, being a very flavourful, generous portion with very few bones.The star of this meal, however, was the boneless fried chicken, which appears to be new on the menu. We had the sweet and spicy version. I thought it might be more sweet than spicy but boy I was wrong. The sauce actually packed a bit of a kick. The chicken itself was nice and moist with a crunchy coating. Definitely a dish to re-order next visit.Finished with a refreshing bowl of mango ice cream scattered with chunks of preserved mango.The restaurant is quite bright and newly redone. We were seated in a "modified" or "westernized" tatami room. It was an enclosed room but the table and benches were regular height rather than the typical low profile in traditional rooms.Service was prompt, courteous and efficient.Dietary restrictions: Server asked twice about whether there was anyone with food allergies.“
