“This was the best restaurant experience I have ever had. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Our order arrived on time, and most importantly, the dishes were delicious. I visited the place with my wife, and she was very pleased. As they say, a happy wife equals a happy life.“
“Happily went to the wrong location! Awesome beer!“

“Nice smoky and spicy flavors; as Marc Murphy says, "seasoned with authority." Very nice staff. The cucumber pickles took me right back to my childhood, to family dinners on the High Plains, prepared by my bachelor farmer great-uncles and an unmarried aunt or two, who had their Southern roots in their memories. Yummmm!“

“My husband and I rarely go to sushi. Besides our favorite place back home because it’s usually such a disappointment. We decided to give this a try and I’m so glad that we did! Stephanie was phenomenal! ? The atmosphere was great and all of the food was delicious. We got a Bento box and two rolls and will definitely be back!“

“I've been to many pizza places in SD. All of the popular spots like Tribune, sisters, friendlys, you name it. I've tried it. I don't know what BLAH does to their spicy prosciutto pizza but it is out of this world. The sauce is the best part, with the dough coming in as a close second. So flavorful, dough perfectly crispy and also flavorful. comes out consistently the same every time. I'd imagine their other red sauce pizzas come out with the same sauce and dough, but to be honest, I get the same pizza every time cause it's so good.“

“I'm from Texas and I take BBQ very serious. I haven't tried a bunch of their food but I love their bandit sliders! Sooooo good however one time I had them and they were extremely salty and the bacon was burnt so bad it tasted HORRIBLE. Other than that actually have a grill outside which is the correct way to make BBQ.“
“Nice, intimate downstairs bar area. Would love to check out the upstairs bar area but seems to be very popular for private events. Nice, varied beer list. Bartender Taylor was very knowledgeable about the different beers and gave us excellent service. Very sweet and welcoming!“

“I recommend lemon jin if you don't like the taste of alc but still want to drink alc. I personally thought it just tasted like soda, so I didn't like it much. Ddeokbokki is good, nothing special. I ordered crispy soy half and signature sauce half. The portions are bigger than I thought. The food was very good. It's a good drinking place : )“

“Ordered the short rib burrito and thought it was really good. Yes, $20 is a lot for a burrito, but this was the first time I've actually been satisfied with my ballpark food. The quantity and quality was all there; definitely a hefty burrito.“

“Saturday afternoon met with friends at a bar before a party, small nice atmosphere. Was nicely welcomed and thanked for visiting, I started with a shot and a spicy margarita. There is a spicy kick to it, smooth where you can enjoy your cocktail. We all enjoyed what we ordered and went for another round of drinks, this is a place where I would revisit again for great cocktails, looking forward to trying out the their best burgers.“

“Great space and good beers. Always good for that sunset on the patio.“
“We visited on the 22nd 23rd and 25th of September in 2023 (Jim and Priya) I've been in a lot of cigar lounges and this is by far the most awesome experience I've ever had. The decor is like a movie set and the crowd is young and fun and eclectic. You will not find better ambiance anywhere. The host Christine took fabulous care of us and even let me borrow her torch - not something every lounge will do. They serve a nice selection of beer/wine and are open till Midnight. When we find ourselves in town again we're sure to come back.“

“Stopped by after a fun day in San Diego. The service was great and my goodness the burgers were so big and for the cost definitely worth it. Staff was so nice and stickers for my littles made their night. We will definitely be back and would recommend it to everyone. The thick slices of onion and tomato were perfect and man that double double puts in n out to shame.“

“This place serves 85 years of proven deliciousness. It is simple. It is hearty. These days, it is even out of the ordinary. Just go. You will be glad that you did. If you are like me, you’ll remember how Mom would heat the oven to 450 degrees and place the block of ice Hungry Man pot pie in the oven for one hour till it transformed into a cauldron of molten lava. My mother would even crack open the hood of the pie and load it with an extra cup of frozen peas and carrots that would cook to perfection in the heavenly inferno of scrumptious delight, which made me the muscular hunk of love that I am today. The San Diego Chicken Pie Shop serves up a pie that is an even better recipe than the one in my memories of my dear Mom. If your are nearby, give it a try.“

“I LOVE the wings. Absolutely fantastic! Definitely better than the wings you are used to, and it's hard to argue with that reasoning. I get them all the time. Top notch every time. To be fair, they're the best. Your search for the greatest wings in the western hemisphere is basically over at this point. You are probably having mixed feelings. Eat some more delicious wings. Also, they are Liverpool supporters, so you'll never walk alone. Even in the darkest times, you are not walking alone.Vegetarian options: I recommend the wings but since you can't have them I would recommend something else that is also very tasty.Dietary restrictions: I had the W.I.N.G.S.Parking: You should get there early if you want a good parking spot. Often times, they have been secured by another interested party, and therefore you cannot lay claim to your preferred spot anymore. But drive around the block because fortune awaits just around the corner and down the next street!Kid-friendliness: I'd say, "No way, Jose!"“

“Best bar in SD, nuff said. Incredible drinks, incredible food and well priced, cool vibe and also has added bars of noble experiment/ young blood (all 3 of which make the best drinks in the city!). My go to spot when wanting to take someone out for a great drink and sexy spot.“
“I threw an engagement party here for my sister and her fiance. This was the easiest, best place to throw an event! Everyone was super helpful and clear on everything we could do. They accommodated many things we wanted and made the night perfect. Thank you to Brett and the team at duck foot!“

“Even though there was only one person out front taking orders, running food and taking payment he did a great job. Fortunately we beat the crowd. All of the food was great especially the shrimp tacos and the Mac and cheese. Great beer at happy hour price. Maybe need a couple of more wine choices but still good. Not planning any trips to downtown but when we do we will be back.“

“Visiting nearby from Honolulu. Was hungry after enjoying the UCSD WOW festival. Stopped into Balboa's for a quick peek at the NCAA Men's final 4. Special was Chicken Shawarma with fries for 12 bucks. Large portion great fries. Was surprised how tasty and clean-tasting the food was...Extensive Beer selection on tap was great. Service was friendly and attentive, especially Aidan and Kory. Aidan is hysterical with a grand sense of humor...hoping to return before I head home. The local and friendly atmosphere not what I was expecting nor how many people were there as appeared to be a complete hole-in-the wall. Delighted to learn a family run establishment...no corporate stuff here...Check Balboa's Tap House out. Nothing fancy but a great value.“

“A place to get burgers & bait and beer while you're fishing. Although technically, you don't have to be fishing to eat here. If you're walking by or you're in the area and it's a nice day, it's a nice place to just grab a little bite to eat, especially on a nice day.The prices are a tad high but let's just say having a burger in the sunshine is totally worth it.Parking: Plenty of free parking. It's at a park right next to a large music venue and when there's no music, there's plenty of parking.“

We got to try La jolla cove and Santana burgers, i don't want to forget their fish and chips as well. It is highly recommended to enjoy the food and the location“

“We had lunch with my wife today at this place, and let me tell you, the food was amazing, the place looks great on the inside ( can’t talk much about the atmosphere, because we literally show up almost as soon as they opened for the day so it was empty), but the food ( once again) is to die for, not lie, so so good. Very impressed! 10/10 I’ll recommend it.“

“We arrived to the bar prior to our reservation and had a lovely experience with our server. Our strawberry margaritas were perfect and the crab dip was especially tasty. When we were seated, Brittany, our server, recognized my birthday and made us feel special for our entire dinner. My guest loved her mushroom risotto and I had the hanger steak special with shrimp and it was delicious. We shared the roasted cauliflower and it was delicious. Brittany brought me a flan on a lovely plate that said Happy Birthday(in chocolate) as well as a card signed by the staff and chef. I had a wonderful evening. The atmosphere is so nice and the food is great at a reasonable price point. Highly recommend!“
“Staff at this location goes above and beyond! The bartenders here always have a great attitude and provide excellent customer service! “We have mixed feelings about this place. Pros are the outdoors. Cons are staff sometimes seems distracted or non engaging. They under pour beers but the pretzels are really good. We love to sit outdoors so it draws us with that and the pretzels.“
“Dying for a beer? Black Plague is a great spot for a beer and a bite with a spooky theme. This North Park location is a taproom for Black Plague, a brewery with their main location in Oceanside. It's a bit cozy, but it has distinctive Plague Doctor theme, and other spooky stuff to help it stand out from your "normal" brewery. We tried a pretty large portion of the beer menu, and everything was good. None of the beer truly stood out as different or special, but not every brewery needs to experiment with new things. We got some food that was easy to share with the group, cheese curds (Curds of Doom) and poutine (Molten Mayhem). It's appropriate bar food for the location. PROPS: Unique theme that extends from how the location is decorated, to the names of every item. This is a great place for pictures. SLOPS: While everything we ate and drank was good, nothing stood out as great. It feels like they're playing it safe with the menu.“
