“Good place very comfortable. They have good samosa. They also have a special menu for the first Saturday of the month so will be back to try Parking: Because it is in downtown Oak Park sometimes it is hard to find parking. But it has a parking garage nearby and is free for the first hour“

“Pablo, our waiter, was exceptional. During our first visit here, he warmly welcomed us and showcased impressive knowledge of the menu, even extending to items not listed. He encouraged us to customize our meal to our liking, and he certainly delivered! For starters, we chose the grilled calamari and Rockefeller oysters. The calamari was tender and impeccably cooked, steering clear of the typical rubbery texture. Opting for balsamic instead of oil was a perfect choice. The oysters were superb, not overwhelmed with cheese. I ordered the veal picatta from the menu, expecting a thin slab, but was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. The angel hair pasta complemented the dish well, although I could have done without the mushrooms – a personal preference, which I should've mentioned. Nonetheless, if you're a mushroom enthusiast, they give you plenty. My boyfriend ordered off-menu, enjoying the Zuppe di Pesce with shrimp, clams, extra calamari, and rigatoni Diablo style in red sauce. It was absolutely amazing and satisfied his taste without being overly spicy. To accompany the meal, I had a glass of the house Chardonnay, which was light and buttery. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't typically drink wine, enjoyed it. Our heartfelt thanks to Pablo and the owner/chef Giovanni for an outstanding dining experience, both in terms of the meal and the service.“

“Service polite and quick. Space clean and well organized. Ordered the Papa Q platter, everything was good, especially the pork belly and sausage. Sides were cornbread, sweeter than traditional, mac q roni- tasty, coleslaw- creamy and traditional, and mashed potatoes with gravy-really good. Hush puppies were yummy too. Three sauces on table are all good individually but I mixed them all together, delish!“
“I have been to this location multiple times and everything that I've gone the staff has been prompt and nice. The morning crew is ALWAYS on point. I've only experienced the evening crew once. It was a little late, they were slower but everything was still good.“

“Step aside big chain chicken, there’s a new sheriff in town.My go-to order is the chicken nuggets and truffle fries, I think it’s the best combo. The chicken is absurdly delicious— so fresh and so well cooked every single time. Very clean space, very fast service and always a vibe.10/10, would recommend to my grandmother.“

“The staff at Lula Cafe was incredibly accommodating to our almost 2-year-old toddler. After we met the owner, another server came over and even addressed our son by his first name! It was such a small but thoughtful touch. In addition, the owner knew we were traveling home the next day so she took the liberty to make our last dish a little smaller so we didn't have leftovers that would go to waste. I was just blown away by the attention to details and hospitality. As a huge bonus, the food and cocktails were incredible! Will definitely go back when we find ourselves in Chicago again.“

“Love that this place is dog friendly! My friend told me that it used to be a house but after it burned down they turned it into a bar. They have a heated indoor patio and outdoor patio in addition to the inside space. Our bartender was fabulous but I didn't catch her name. The drinks were all top-knotch, I wish they had food but they do allow you to bring in outdoor food. We ordered pizza and then a guy selling tamales came around. Overall a super fun night and can't wait to come back!“

“Scooters is the spot for custard in Chicago! They have such a great mix of pure custard, concretes and sundaes that you could visit here endlessly. I particularly love anything with peanut butter and chocolate and my wife always goes for a chocolate strawberry mix. The neighborhood is quaint and the service is always excellent - even on those crazy hot summer days. Choose local and definitely choose Scooter's!“

“Bang Bang has been a neighborhood favorite of mine for years! Tastes like it's made with love. The biscuits, the pies, the sides, you can't go wrong! I usually get a scratch biscuit with sweet, a side salad or side of candied bacon, and a slice of pie to go :) Delicious! Great patio space for the summer!“

“Classic location. I like the deep dish with a little char so this was right up my alley. I had never had Chi vs ago deep dish and was a little surprised how thick the dough was on the bottom but it was better for it. Staff was patient and loaded us up with great brewery options in the area.“

“I would definitely recommend getting a sweet treat from Vaca. We stopped by because it caught our eyes while walking, the outside is very cute. I got the ice cream swirl with peanut butter cookie dough, it was really good. I honestly couldn't tell it was vegan at all. The only slight difference was that the ice cream is a lot lighter than regular ice cream. Only thing is that it is a little bit too sweet for me as the chocolate peanut butter, chocolate chips and chocolate sauce is heavy, but if you have a sweet tooth it's a must try!“

“5 stars for this gem of place in Chi-town ! Not only was the service amazing, but the juices and bites to eat were the best plant based and vegan food I have ever had. My favorite was the matcha donut. It was so yummy I couldn’t believe it was made with no sugar! I left feeling fueled and inspired to continue on my plant based journey. Sundrip is a must try for all! You won’t regret it. <3“

“From the moment we stepped into Munno Pizzeria and Bistro, we were greeted with a warmth that only foreshadowed the delightful evening ahead. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, making it an ideal setting for any occasion. Each dish we ordered was a testament to the chef’s mastery over Italian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a modern twist that left us savoring every bite. The pizza, with its perfectly charred crust and innovative toppings, was a highlight, while the pasta dishes were reminiscent of a culinary journey through Italy. What truly sets Munno apart, however, is the impeccable service. The staff’s attention to detail and genuine care for the dining experience made us feel truly special. Our dinner at Munno Pizzeria and Bistro wasn’t just a meal; it was a memorable dining experience that we’re already looking forward to repeating. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, missing out on this Michelin-starred gem would be a mistake. Bravo to the Munno team for exceeding our expectations!“

“Eden, located in Chicago, provided a delightful dining experience for my first visit. Arriving late allowed us to secure a table swiftly. I indulged in a couple of dirty martinis to kickstart the evening, accompanied by the exquisite wagyu tartare, which left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. For the main course, I opted for the crab bucatini, savoring each delectable bite, while my companion thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful chicken dish. The service was exemplary, and the restaurant exuded cleanliness, with the added luxury of real hand towels in the bathrooms, a detail not often found. The ambiance, with its well-thought-out lighting and decor, further elevated the experience. Overall, Eden offered a memorable dining venture, leaving me eager to return for another culinary adventure.“
“I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people who work there! Not only is the beer always excellent, but they are just wonderful neighbors - regularly throwing small festivals and other fun activities for the neighborhood.“
“This chic yet cozy space is an essential stop for Chicago beer enthusiasts. It's hard to pick a favorite option from the continuously shifting, consistently delicious beer and food menus, but the Spanish Tea IPA has stood the test of time.“

“We needed a place to stay close to the Concord music hall, and found the Leavitt St. Inn and Tavern. Every element of our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The menu at the inn was a purposefully short, curated list of bar food, and everything we tried was incredible. The tavern had a great neighborhood feel, and the room we stayed in was well-appointed, and just right for my wife and me. We met the owners within a few moments of arriving, and immediately felt welcomed. I highly recommend the Leavitt St. Inn and Tavern to anyone looking for a hidden gem of a place to stay while visiting Chicago. We can't wait until we travel north again, because we know where we are staying! 5 stars! A++++“

“This has become our special occasion dinner spot. We are always fiending to try new plates every time and 3 or 4 plates fills us up as a couple! Amazing service and atmosphere. My favorite dishes are the kappa bonda (fried yucca bites), kallumakaya (mussels), and pazham pori (dessert plantains). MUST order the ginger cooler as your drink, wishing I could have this on every hot and sunny day! Can't wait to come back for another dinner. Also, very easy to park for free on Fletcher.“

“Love this new local coffee shop! I'm always on the lookout for a good independently owned coffee shop and this is at the top of my list. The iced coffee is amazing - the flavor has a slight sweetness to it which sets it apart from a lot of other brews I've had. The inside is small but has plenty of seating, so a great place to get studying/work done (plus free - reliable - wifi). The icing on the cake is that their mission is to support local shelter dogs - 50% of sales on their merchandise goes to Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control. The dog-themed decor is also adorable. Highly recommend!!!“

“By far one of my fave spots in Chicago. Every time I’m there they’re exploring something new and delicious but are consistently true to their flavors and culture. This Cuban Filipino fusion rings true to its inspirations and never disappoints. This was our first time getting the 5 course tasting meal and every dish was amazing. Great flavors, textures, and as a couple that doesn’t drink a lot we loved the N/A drink pairing. We were definitely full by the end.Alfredo was an incredible server/host and was very attentive to our needs and creating a special environment for us. Would highly recommend for a good date night or to celebrate a happy occasion.Very intimate setting!Dietary restrictions: Good with my shellfish allergy. The substitutes were still incredible. “I wish I had a picture, but I ate the donuts too fast... LOL. The past few weeks, I have purchased these not only for my husband and I, but also have taken them to my sister and brother's place as a little pick me up. Neither of them believed the donuts were vegan. They were so happy with the treat I brought them, definitely my new go-to when bringing something sweet to someone's home. We have tried the chocolate and regular glazed, Oreo, apple fritter, coffee cake, and Boston crème. All fab and I cannot wait to try the others!“

“Original cocktails in an original setting. Very good service, very good drinks that you won't find everywhere (their own touch on the classics too), good ingredients and bottles behind the bar. Pick your atmosphere: you can sit a the counter where it's more like a speakeasy, or at a table in the bustling bar, or in the lobby area of the apartment building where it's more like a quieter lounge. My favorite bar in uptown.“

“Rejoice! The place for some great Chinese teas had arrived near you! Yes, it does share the fad with the Taiwan born boba drinks. But our eye was caught by the nice website with images of nice teacups and ambiance. Only 23 miles away from home we discovered that the trip in a hot and still pandemic day was totally worth it. In few words owner, Shaolong picked the teaist vibes in us and offered us a great real experience of sharing a favorite tea - he introduced us to the wonders of Zhang Ping Shui Xian (漳平水仙). Unlike the real "black tea", the Pu-erh, this one also comes in bricks, yet is a type of oolong with an amazing floral scent. We were honored with 4 different samples which we are currently slowly and thoroughly testing (3 pics). And yes, the fermentation levels are different - some definitely will give you a great oolong taste, but others are just a unique elixir on its own. But back to the house itself. I see and hope for great unrolling potential. This could become a place for tea lovers and teaists in training. Why not theme days, classes, shared experiences, a club? We would join. The 23 miles are a drive, but there isn't much of a real tea-drinking place in our Chicagoland (unlike smaller cities in North America like Portland and Montreal). However, Living Water Tea House is a great promise and it totally won our full support! Keep the cups warm!“

“Good ass Italian ice. Fresh fruit. So natural. Love it. They give you free "flight" (four flavors in a container) for 10 stamps for every purchase. To all the lovers of syrup who dislike sugary Italian ice, do what you do cause you're not tasting real goodness. Best Italian ice.“

“2nd time coming here. Food is phenomenal. Never had chicken with honey butter or pimento cheese with fries. When you put the butter on the chicken, the melted butter, the crispy texture, and the juices of the chicken just melts in your mouth. As far as the pimento cheese goes, the sauce has a bit of a tomato hint blending in with the cheese when you have it with the fries.“

“I've driven past this place often for the last few years but never visited. I did for the first time a few days ago and have been back a few times! I love the vibe, the inside is gorgeous and cozy, and the patio is dog friendly. Adam, the co-owner and roaster, is a lovely human and easy to talk to and its obvious how much he cares about his craft. This is one of my new favorite spots on the entire north side! The baked goods were also tasty and I sampled my friend's rosemary lavender caramel Latte and it was so good! much more understated than the title might have you believe. “Tonight, the Wife and I asked for a table of 4, saw multiple tables open. Host replied with "Looks like we're not going to have table free for the rest of the night." Our 2 friends walked in about 5 minutes after us for a table, Host proceeds to not automatically deny them and asks the servers. Servers apparently had a problem with having another table until another server came worked it out. Finally, Wife and I walk back in to join our friends and overhear 2 servers discussing with the host about not seating anyone after 9pm (they close at midnight btw) Great to know that you wanting to close early is more important than actually doing your jobs and making easy money (we only got drinks and 2 apps) Pathetic, will not come back. “If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food with lots of options (and generous portions!), look no further! Upon arrival, you get chips and 2 types of salsas (Roja/red and verde/green). I ordered a fish taco and an Al pastor taco con rice and beans. So much I couldn’t even finish! My boyfriend ordered one of the many options of burritos and it was the biggest burrito I’ve seen! He loved it!!! The mole sauce on it was delicious. Oh, we also ordered taquitos as an appetizer which could be a meal in itself for one person haha! We loved the food so much, we ordered a half dozen tamales to go. Chicken and pork. Soooo delicious. 5 stars. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else!
