“What a lovely spot! I tried the strawberry rose drink, butterfly pea lemonade, banana and egg roti, crab and cheese roti, and I stole a bite of my table-mate's chicken croissant. What worked: -- I really enjoyed both the strawberry rose drink and the butterfly pea lemonade (lemonade was my favorite, though) -- the crab and cheese roti feels like it shouldn't work and yet, it does. It was a little sweet, very savory, and came with a side of salad which helped brighten the plate -- the banana and egg roti also feels like it shouldn't work but it was great! It was like a sweet crepe without all the extra sugar -- great service! They were very kind -- it's a really cute spot. It has the cozy cafe feel while also serving meal-sized portions of food What didn't work: -- it would be nice if they expanded their savory options, especially if they included more veggie based things. Other than that, no complaints! I'd love to come again!”

“It’s a cute, little bakery run by some lovely, wonderful people.I’m a pretty big guy who used to be overweight. My love for sugar is still very much present lol. That said, whenever I eat anything from here, I don’t feel that “guilt” or “shame” you feel when you prick up a candy bar.Everything that I’ve tried here is the perfect amount of sweet. Not too much, not too little. It will satisfy your sweet tooth without making your doctor cry at the amount of sugar you just ingested.It’s also very filling. I can easily eat 2-3 donuts from a donut shop. Meanwhile, I’ll be 3/4 of the way thru a pastry from this bakery and I’ll struggle to eat the rest. I want to eat the rest because they’re VERY delicious but it’s more than meets the eye.Also extremely well priced. The average for a single pastry or slice of cake seems to be right below $4 I think. Might be slightly off but the point is I didn’t feel like I was spending a lot. Again, for something that will fill a grown man up without being half your daily amount of calories in a single serving like some of these other sweets, this place is near impossible to beat.I love this place”

At the end of the dinner, we were both surprised when the waitress brought a complimentary slice of strawberry shortcake for my sister and then the whole restaurant lit up with the “Happy Birthday to Ya” song by Stevie Wonder. I grabbed a coconut smoothie (5/5 tasty) and two smoothie bowls: the coconut bowl (I'm coconut crazy 5/5) and the pitaya bowl (5/5). The fruit was super fresh, cold and crisp. The smoothie base was pure YUM. I'd come here every day if I could! Paid parking via mobile apps: $.79 cents for 20 minutes. Tons of other eateries in the area to walk to. Just be careful. The area was a bit odd. I didn't exactly feel the safest alone. The cat calling was annoying. The following and talking to me as I left my truck was awkward. It's an area that I'd bring pepper spray to.”

Not too sweet, unusual enough to elicit comment over coffee, and I bought what they had left to share with friends.The tamales were good, served with refreshing rajas garnish. Also got some Bolillos to turn into tortas at home. The staff are LOVELY and the customers-only restroom is CLEAN. Altogether cozy enuf for early morning breakfast lunch (they serve breakfast) at 5:30 - a rare thing for the area.”

I Love the Ham and Cheese Subs The Pizza Subs and More . They v=even has a rack with Potato Chips of your choosing . at the far end of the counter near the open concept Kitchen they have refrigerators full of sodas and more for drinks or they have fountain drinks too In this place . But the sodas I Like most there are the IBC Root Beers I get there once In a while . The customer service is prompt and professional and I Love The family atmosphere there too . Sorry don't know if I remember correctly) painstakingly retook my order and, with the managers assistance, accomodated changes to the order due to desired items having been sold out since my order was placed. After verifying I had paid the first time, they made sure I had everything in my order, or equivalents, and hurried to help the next guest who was audibly frustrated with the difficulty of my order and how long it has taken to come to resolution.Grateful to be done being a bother, and awkward because of the frustration I heard behind me, I raced away from the counter, not realizing I hadn't given a name for them to call in the restaurant when food was ready. Despite my frazzled vibes, staff were able to get my attention, get my info and then serve the remaining few guests before end of service.Yes it was chaotic, yes we had to wait for the food, and no it wasn't appropriate to lounge and do dinner, but I super super appreciated that I was able to get actual food and started to chow down even before rushing out the door again.I know service is tough - especially late night rushes - that keep employees from getting home, is the worst time to deal with difficult customer service issues and when everyone is tired... but the consideration, grace & accomidation i received from staff tonight was worth setting aside time to leave a deliberate review. I recently ran across BGC while in the Silver Spring area around lunch time, and boy, am I glad I did! For being a small place, I was impressed with their lively and bright, yet not overwhelming décor - it not louder than your lunch, helping to savor and enjoy the experience. It was nice, neat, convenient, and the counter staff is very friendly and attentive. I was sold BGC the moment I bit into their huge and hard to handle, but incredibly delicious Bifteki Pita with a side of peppers and feta cheese, and a Coke! Anyone who can make something this good, has to make everything just as well. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting the busy Big Greek himself, coming out of the kitchen briefly to say hi and receive my compliment. Anyone who enjoys excellent Greek fare, has to put the Big Greek Café on their bucket list of eateries. I'll see you as soon as I can get back to BGC. Bon appétit!”

“I am part Polish. My great grandmother came from there to Ellis Island in 1906. She raised my Mother who is now in an assisted living environment less than 1 mile away from this place. I am always looking for little things to help brighten her day when I visit several times a week. Polka Deli in has proven to be an ideal solution and helping me meet that goal. My earliest memories are eating freshly made pierogies and kielbasa in my great grandmothers kitchen with my mom and others. Enjoying the amazing food and snacks I’ve picked up here helps both of us during these very difficult times as she is confined to a bed over 90% of the time. She only eats a few bites so my diet is not improving but getting the smile from her and as we drift in and out of memories together is priceless.”

From the moment we walked in we were welcomed with amazing service, accommodated for our large party and assisting my father with handicapped access. They served us delicious homemade chips and the food was mouth watering. We ordered two larger platters and every bite was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. “Montgomery County's first Taco Bell Cantina, and it's absolutely a welcome addition! As soon as we heard this opened up, we definitely had to come give it a try. We got some Cantina exclusive items: Cantina Crispy Chicken Taco Cantina Chicken Quesadilla Cantina Chicken Burrito Baja Blast Slushy with Tequila For the food, my favorite item was the Cantina Crispy Chicken Taco! It's cheap at only $3 each, has well seasoned chicken and cheese on the inside, with a crispy cheese on the taco shell. All the Cantina items come with the tasty Avocado Verde Salsa Sauce which I haven't seen anywhere else! For the drinks, you have to order any alcoholic beverages at the counter understandably. We had to get the Baja Blast slushy, and we decided to have tequila be our choice of liquor. The combination was pretty tasty, and the slushy itself was cold and had sweet Baja Blast flavors! I will say, it would be nice if there was a bit more liquor per serving for the price, it is a bit on the lighter side, so you can order a double shot if you like it stronger.”
