I did take out and was handed container without a bag not certain if that is the normal there. I would definitely eat there again“

“*Dog Friendly* Kind of hard to find but what a gem! Staff was extremely friendly, they went out of their way to go over their different drinks and other places to check out. They brought out the dogs a water bowl with ice cubes. The beers were incredible, never had anything like them…. The fact that they are all barrel aged is all that needs to be said. “I stopped by Species X on a Tuesday evening after work, mostly due to the Google ratings but also intrigued by the concept/vibe. I ended up being the only one at the brewery which was a blessing in disguise as it allowed me to have about a 2 hour chat with the owner, Bo.I went from my typical skepticism of anything branded AI to fully convinced this was a unique, fun, and ultimately successful approach to brewing beer - not to mention its clear Bo has done his homework and then some.I ended up trying 6 beers and I would honestly say all of them were above average - standouts being the maple blueberry sour and Fluff001.Whether you live in Columbus or are just in time for a short while I'd highly recommend stopping by here to see what Bo and his team are doing as it's truly incredible. While the AI models are fascinating, the decor and vibe are on point, and the staff is very friendly (we covered everything from viral marketing to PC gaming), I firmly believe any brewery is only as good as its beer - and Species X has REALLY good beer!!“

“Go here! I had the wiener schnitzel (which is hard to find in my area) and it was sooooo good. I asked for extra lemon and it was gourmet. I had a side of Kasespatzle and roasted vegetables. It was one of the best meals of my life. The staff and atmosphere were special. I bought some beers to go, as well. The only thing is that if you want IPA, you won't find hoppy beer here. German beer just isn't like that. But don't let that stop you!“

“I was visiting Columbus for work and a friend recommended Barley's. I ordered wings as an appetizer and dang they are good. The wings are grilled, and the flavor is very good. I had a burger for my entree and it was quite good as well. Overall good experience and I'd definitely come back again.“

The only negative feedback I have is that fries should be STANDARD - not an add-on for burgers and sandwiches, particularly given the price of the item. The burger was already $17 without fries. And the fries were greasy. I don't like to complain, so I didn't say anything to the server. However - I paid $6 for greasy potatoes.“

“We reserved one of the event rooms for our wedding rehearsal dinner and are beyond happy with our experience! We contacted Michael a few months before our wedding and he was amazing to work with. He was so attentive to our group's food allergies/dietary restrictions and did everything possible to make the evening play out exactly as my wife and I envisioned!The food was incredible across the board. “When dining with Understory, you can choose the Lounge or the Commons. My husband and I made a reservation for the Lounge. We were coming from Indiana and arrived earlier than expected. The staff was nice and allowed us to be seated earlier than our reservation since we were there early. This was wonderful as we were eating before checking into our hotel and going to a concert. The service was great and the staff were nice. The Lounge has a swanky, cocktail lounge vibe which made it feel more upscale without making you feel out of place. For drinks; my husband ordered an espresso martini that he was very happy with. I had the Uncle Boon's cocktail. It wasn't my favorite, but I'm also annoyingly picky There was a carafe of water and two cups on the table which was a nice touch. Food: The goat cheese croquette was wonderful. Excellently breaded. Creamy and delicious. The fruit compote added a great sweetness while the curry aioli cut the sweetness beautifully. I paid extra to have crostini on the side to eat with it. I do wish that there were two croquettes instead of only one. My husband had the Understory burger and seemed pleased with it. I ordered the grilled cheese. The bread was amazing. It was a soft and delicious brioche. However, the bread to cheese ratio was definitely off in my opinion. Even though the bread was great, there needed to be more cheese! Dessert: We shared the banana pudding. It was so good! The pudding definitely seemed homemade. The caramelized bananas were top tier and really added something special to the dish. There was a layer of brûlée marshmallow fluff over top and yum! Overall, we would definitely visit again if we were in the area.“

Weekly specials and complimentary house-made cornbread keep things fresh and exciting. Tuesdays they have LIVE music and the musician, Michael Robinson, is quite possibly the songbird of our generation. In addition to great food, great drinks and live music on Tuesdays, there is a SLIGHTLY older gentleman who bartends who could be considered an appetizer…cause he be lookin’ like a snack. “My husband and I went with a friend for an early lunch. I have to say right away it's a very large dining area with huge screens to watch pretty much all current sports that is playing! Our server was not only very nice she was very knowledgeable and offered great recommendations as it was our first visit. I choose the Asian crispy chicken green salad. It was the best salad I have ever had! The portion was insanely large. Three people could easily share this salad. My husband had the fish and chips. Also, I've never been to a brewery where all the beers taste exactly how they tell you they will, but seriously the cream and two sugars literally tasted like a cup of coffee. The blueberry wit tastes just like a wit with blueberry juice in and the IPA isn't trying to be anything creative. It's an IPA for folks who like IPAs.“
