“This restaurant has been here since I was probably in high school. Best jalapeño poppers in the business and sweet tea was off the anchor chain. Ask me if I wanted a bag to bring my leftovers home. Courteous crew on deck at the Captain today !!“

“If you're looking for a delicious, easy going meal, this is the place. The portions are shareable (or filling, depending on your appetite) and the atmosphere is perfect for a sit at the pub or a family friendly dinner out in the dining room or on the patio. Always a favorite with my household!“

“We discovered Hall’s Chophouse when we first moved to Charleston in 2019 and it became a favorite. Once the Nexton location opened it has become my most favorite Brunch spot and steakhouse for special occasions and treating visitors to a part of Beautiful Charleston, SC.“

“This place is TOP OF THE LINE!!! The food, service, and atmosphere are pretty much the best you can get around here and not break the bank. Every time we take a new person to Oscar's, they're hooked! I just wish they would call us next time Chef can get Golden Tile ?“

“The first time we went here I was admittedly disappointed with the service especially since I really enjoy Blue Tequila - but came back after a few months and it was excellent! Now the wait staff is incredibly attentive and the food is very delicious! I also enjoyed the outdoor dining and the chips and salsa“

“Had a wonderful dinner at Middleton restaurant and we didn't have to pay for garden entrance if you are here for di bed.The place was very quaint and the view of the garden from the restaurant was so lovely. The host and the waiters were helpful and friendly. They served dinner rolls and they were made by local bakery , Saffron bakery. We had scallops as our appetizer and they were sit on top of mashed yolk, mustard, mayo and Lima beans with bits of crunchy bacons, so so good. For our dinner, we had local grouper with red lentils and egg plants and butcher cut sirloin about 7-8 oz on top of creamy mashed potatoes and green beans. Both entrees were so good. For dessert, I chose the chocolate mousse cake and all their dessert are from Saffron bakery. The restaurant is a non profit restaurant so the restaurant didn't charge us tax on our bill. We were so surprise and very happy about it so if you don't know this then now you know :)I really recommend this place and we'll be back with the kids next time.“

“Technically part of Charleston, Daniel island wasn't developed until the early 90s. Now it's a planned, upscale suburb with residences, retail shops, hotels, independent crafter booths, other eateries, and of course The Kingstide. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. The pretty creekside location, modern decor, and open kitchen helps but it's the food and service that really stood out. The menu is heavy on the seafood with just a few landlubber offerings and I think enough meatless dishes to keep things interesting for vegetarians too. Many things appealed and it was hard to decide. I got the "Seasonal Fish", prepared with melted leek, duck fat confit celery root, fennel nage (the term was new to me; it is a method of poaching) and grapefruit. The seasonal fish that day was swordfish and it was probably the best I've ever had, both the fish itself and the dish as a whole. The leek, fennel, and grapefruit base was subtle and a perfect complement for the fish. As for the fish itself, I now realize that practically every other time I've had swordfish it has been overcooked, sometimes just ever-so-slightly but it makes a big difference. This was done just to perfection, no trace of translucency but stopped before any dryness could set in. The fish and the plate were hot. The only flaws were that the bed of leeks and other vegetables underneath were room temperature, and a separate side vegetable or starch (maybe a risotto) would have been appropriate. Speaking of a side, I had asked my waiter about that so it wasn't a surprise to me. Several, including the hush puppies with sorghum, the seasoned fries with paprika, espelette, and saffron aioli, and the Caesar salad appealed. He could tell I was wavering but in the end, knowing I wanted to save room for the Key Lime Pie dessert, I passed. But, soon after the entree arrived, my waiter returned with "a gift from the kitchen". A side of the Brussels Sprouts which I had also expressed interest in. A very large plate of roasted brussels sprouts, assertively flavored with chili lime glaze, pickled shallot, and crispy lardon (slab bacon). Like the entree, this was probably the best I've had anywhere. Two for two. No charge obviously. It was a gift! It was a very large platter and I took most of it home and it was even better the next day. Cocktails: a large list of classics and specialties. But even the classics had a twist: the Old Fashioned was made with "pork fat-washed Elijah Craig bourbon". Not sure how I feel about that. I ended up choosing the Banana Daiquiri, served straight up. The twist here was it was made from Mezcal instead of rum (though rum is also an option). I had reservations and told my waiter I probably won't like it but it sounds so intriguing I just have to try it. Well I tried it. Interesting but I definitely wouldn't order it again! I told my waiter and he offered to replace it with anything I wanted, free of charge! Another nice gesture, like the unexpected side of sprouts, that contributed to this excellent experience. I did say I was saving room for dessert, right? I'm glad I did. A key lime pie, again one of the best I've tried. A plain key lime pie is pretty boring and needs additions: a topping, a sauce, or both. In this case the topping consisted of generous peaks of piped marshmallow, beautifully browned with a torch. Topping sweet and subtly grainy from the sugar. The filling intensely limey and tart. A substantial graham cracker crust. And in lieu of a sauce, this had some kind of crunchy bits underneath, maybe a nut brittle? Definitely worth getting out of downtown to check out this place. Excellent food and service, easy parking, check out the craft vendors afterwards or maybe go for a walk on the many trails into the natural areas that thankfully were preserved when this island was developed.“

“Crab Du Jour was great. They have a great selection of finger foods if you're willing to get down and dirty. As well as an assortment of on plate choices if you're not feeling the mess. Marquelle was awesome and cordial; our drinks never went empty. We were approached by multiple people as well who tended to us as needed. Pricing varies for what you want to eat. It is on the higher side of the seafood market. I, however, consider it worth since not many Cajun places do it this good.“
“Got blue crab here fresh. We live in columbia SC, and I've been looking for a place to buy live blue crab close to our place, but I failed. Luckily, my husband had a company party at Charleston. Upon checking places nearby, I found this place Marvin's seafood, I'm glad I chose this place among other places, their blue crabs are fresh and comes with different sizes to choose from, they also have different fishes, price are very reasonable. Will definitely come back for blue crab.“

“This hidden place is pure awesome. Everytime I visit Charleston I have to get at least one meal from here. They say "garlic," they mean it! The crab legs are so well done. The fish is fried to perfection. Piled high with their butter it's messy and you'll be happy for it. Prepare to wait a little while, but it's worth the wait as everything is made fresh.“

“Wow this place is great! We had a group of 7 and had 2 of the seafood madness boils. We were very satisfied! It was more than we expected. There was corn, sausage, potatoes, crab legs, crawfish, shrimp and mussels all perfectly seasoned. We also had the soft shell crab that was delicious. My daughter just moved here to South Carolina and any time we visit this will be the place we go for seafood!“

“The convenience store you have to walk through to get to the restaurant ordering window is one of the nastiest I've ever seen in my life, BUT Rai Shaun's food was fantastic. I had lima beans and rice with a big piece of hambone in it and shrimp and grits. My wife had the okra soup, fried fish and the best crab cake we've ever eaten (I had to steal a taste) at any price. Rai Shaun is a great cook and super friendly guy. Good luck and I hope you can open a sit down restaurant soon and get out of that convenience store.“

“I was not impressed when I visited a while back. I found out why: I was not served by Antoine last time, and that made 100% of the difference. The food was better, the atmosphere was more fun, even the wait when there was one was nice. The place is 4 stars' worth, but Antoine is a 6.“
“The place is Awesome! I visited my grandma and she introduced me to the place and ever since I loved it! She also said about 10-15 years ago some old guy and his son tried to steal two pops! Named the angry grandpa show, overall a place I’ll be coming back for.“

“It's definitely a different experience than what I was used to. There are no utensils unless asked. It's not all that bad it makes for a More amusing time when with a group. The portion sizes match the price, the food was cooked perfectly, and music was loud enough to enjoy but low enough to not ruin conversation. Me and the wife enjoyed the occasional dance in our seats. The staff was nice but my waiter was a little odd?. I'd like to go again but the price is pretty high for multiple trips in a week my party of 8 cost us 258$. Hope you have just as good a time.“

To top it off, I thought the price was very reasonable. It is not a super fancy place. However for us it is just what we wanted.“
