“Very cool spot. The new owner is amping up this place with a fresh selection of wines and some unique food. Even an outside patio is being built to add to more atmosphere. Future entertainment possibilities too. The crowds are chill and you can feel safe to drink and mingle with your family and friends in here. Happy Holidays everyone.“

“Stopped here yesterday for the first time. I don’t live in Charleston but only came for the symphony. It was my daughter’s birthday and we wanted to treat her to something special. We ordered a few desserts and French pressed coffee. I love a strong, bold coffee and theirs did not disappoint! Wonderful! I forgot to ask her name but the woman who waited on us was so sweet and attentive. The cake we ordered was HUGE! We knew it was tall but the slice size was so generous. Even after stuffing ourselves we took home so much. Thank you Gala for helping make her 15th birthday one to remember! We will be back every time we come to town.“

“This place was perfect. Every dish that we got we loved. The service was awesome and so friendly. Loved the vibe of the place too. The menus online aren’t updated and not sure how often items are changed up, but we got the sourdough with jam and pickled veggies, short rib, fish falafel, and mushroom and carrot wellington. For dessert I believe it was a rhubarb, lemon, and curd tart, with dehydrated meringue - I could eat that every day. Would 10/10 get all those dishes again. One of my favorite restaurants I’ve been to. Thanks to the chefs, staff, everyone that made it a great night. You all are the best ??“

“The first bartender told me that Malagon is an accurate representation of a cafw one would find in Spain. I marveled at the hanging ham, the tiled ceiling, and the cozy environment. It gives a nice ambiance. I sat at the bar and felt it was a good location for people watching and to watch the drinks being prepared. I arrived in the off-hours so I walked in with no wait, but I have heard it fills up fast. Malagon is a tapas restaurant which is best experienced with friends. It is hard to get a full experience with one person. I did my best. I ordered the shrimp first which was fine. I found them to be very buttery and garlic forward. I then moved onto the sourdough bread with goat cheese, honey, and a soft chorizo that could be spread like butter. Listen, I never want to know how any meat is processed in a such a way that it is spreadable because in the end it was utterly delicious. I could have ordered two more plates of those. I initially was concerned I would need more bread for everything but it ended up being a perfect ratio of items. The goat cheese was nice and goat cheesy, the honey light and sweet, and the chorizo super delicious. I ended with the jámon serrano. Sure, I wanted the Iberico but I didn't have that in my budget so I moved onto the serrano at the recommendation of the second bartender. It was delicious - salty, tender, cured ham. The little bread sticks offset the saltiness mellowing the dish. The service was solid. The mood was sedate. Everyone was kind. Malagon would be an excellent place to bring two or six people all have similar taste preferences in order to really explore the menu. I left full and content having just scratched the surface.“

“I would go here more often if it was open on weekends. Over all delicious. The chicken burrito I had was so good and the sauce made everything even better. It only took 10 minutes to get our food and they had a little courtyard with shade behind the building. The prices are pretty standard for Charleston (not that cheap) but it wasn't outrageously expensive. The courtyard does have free water. The burrito has pico, fries, your meat of choice, cheese, and avocado. I would recommend going here if you're in the area around lunch time on a week day“
