One of the best dining experiences my partner and I have had to date! Celebrated a special occasion here at 1888 and Nicholas and the staff made it so special. Nicholas was so knowledgeable, attentive, and gave excellent recommendations. Everything we ordered was incredible! We especially vouch for the king crab, ribeye, and the elderflower/mascarpone dessert. Must try in the bow valley!
Food was great, ambiance in what they called "the lounge" which was basically the mezzanine hallway, was mostly good but there was a lot of walking traffic and other tables did get loud - the stone work and arches amplified the noise. Expensive, but that's expected in this location. Service was just okay. We were served by several different staff so there was no consistency in service. My steak was ordered medium, but served rare. But the waiter quickly had it cooked a bit more. It was delicious, as was the loaded tater tots and snap peas. The maple old fashioned beast also quite good.
