It had been a couple of years since we last dined at Banff Ave Brewing, and in the past we had always been happy with both the food and the service. Unfortunately, this visit was quite disappointing. We don't have high expectations for pub-style food, but this time the food was completely bland. My husband, our son, and a friend ordered pizzas that looked great when they arrived but lacked any real flavour. All three agreed they tasted like a frozen grocery-store pizza. We also ordered a poutine and a burger, which were similarly underwhelming. The fries were surprisingly flavourless, and the burger patty seemed unseasoned, with only a tiny amount of sauce that did little to improve it. We ordered Sprite, iced tea, and Pepsi, and all of the drinks—especially the Sprite—were excessively sweet, as if the syrup-to-water ratio was off. We had to add water to make them drinkable. The beer selection was limited, and the beers we tried were not enjoyable. To make matters worse, we were seated next to a speaker, and despite politely asking if the music could be turned down so we could have a conversation, we were told it was due to a new sound system. The volume was overwhelming and felt more like a dance club than a dining environment, which significantly affected the ambiance. Overall, this experience fell far short of our previous visits. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Overall, it was a cool place to chill. Amazing deal on beers! However food quality was a bit meh.

We were a little early for our reservation and they graciously found a spot for us! Our server was very attentive and friendly however; the place was out of three different menu items so that was a bummer! We got the Poutine, fish and chips, and Cesar salad, overall happy with our food. Very cool vibe in the place, laid back and loved the holiday decorations, would definitely come back and sit at the bar for some drinks.

Fantastic experience! The beer and food were delicious but the service is really what made our experience. We had vegetarians in our party and the kitchen offered to customize items on the kids menu to suit. We'll definitely be back!

Do Not Eat Here. I tried one bite of the salad and one bite of the chicken Parmesan before sending it back as inedible. The taste of baking soda was so overpowering I couldn't taste anything else. And yet I was still asked to pay the full price plus auto tip. 🤮

Coming from Toronto, I was pleasantly surprised to find a micro-brewery amidst a lot of overpriced restaurants in Banff. Prices are reasonable with a good portion and the beer is fantastic!!!

I went to the brewery when I was in town for a conference. I paid for my tab and requested an itemized bill be emailed or texted, gave my contact. None was sent. It’s been a huge PIA….why can’t I get a simple receipt?!? DO NOT go here if you are traveling for business. Avoid at all costs.

One of, if not, the best places in Banff to grab a bite. From the moment we walked in, the experience was unmatched. The in-house brewed beers are top notch and award winning. Our server Jeremiah was incredibly friendly and his service was amazing. I’d highly recommend Banff Ave Brewing Co. for anyone looking for great food and a good time!

This is a fun brewpub with an excellent selection of permanent and rotating beers on tap - the tasting selection of 6 beers is the way to go. It was fully packed out when we visited owing to the Melissa’s Road Race crowd but were still well served despite longer than usual waits for drinks and food. A good, convenient and causal pit stop for some drinks and grub on the main drag.
