And besides, I didn't ask anyone to leave a review. I have an active Instagram audience, whom I previously told how much we love this restaurant and whom I now told about the owner's terrible attitude. The people who decided to lower the rating are your audience.
We are regular visitors to this restaurant, both before and after the renovation. We’ve always loved the atmosphere, the quality of the food, and the service. We often recommend this place to friends and guests, share our experiences on social media, and genuinely want everyone to come and enjoy it.
But not today
We frequently come here with our child, and until now, our visits were always enjoyable. The staff have been friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Sometimes we even brought McDonald’s for our child, which was never an issue before and always felt completely fine for the whole family.
Unfortunately, today was different. The owner approached us personally and, after a brief mini-argument, allowed us to bring McDonalds for child — but it was obvious he was displeased. This had never happened before, and it really changed the feel of our visit, even though four other adults were with us and covering the check.
The experience was made even more uncomfortable by a toy Picachu train that the restaurant provides. One of the staff gave it to our child, but the owner came over and took the toy back from the child’s hands without my suggestion. This felt unnecessary and upsetting, especially since the toy was meant for the guests to enjoy.
On top of that, I ordered tea, which was never brought, and unlike the usual practice where the staff always offer refills, today it was not provided.
For the first time, my impression of this restaurant has been negatively affected by the owner, not the staff, who normally make every effort to ensure a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, because of today’s visit, our impression of the restaurant has been spoiled, and we are unlikely to return.
We sincerely hope that the owner can focus on management while allowing the staff to continue doing their jobs, so that guests can enjoy their visits without unnecessary restrictions or pressure.

Sushi train! I love this place, I go every time I find myself in the Banff area. Fish is always the best quality. Portions are generous. I love that you can just grab what you want as the train rolls past. They are always busy so you may have to wait a bit to get a seat, but it is worth it. It is a bit cramped, and it is casual, but don't let that deter you. Service is good. If you don't see what you want, ask them to make it and they will get it to you ASAP. This is literally the best restaurant in Banff. No frills, amazing sushi, nice staff. I highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing. I came in, sat down, ate what I want instantly, and was treated very well. The service was instant and friendly, the food was 12/10, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled like flowers.

Incredible sushi the best I’ve had in a while, prices are reasonable and can’t go wrong with conveyer belt sushi. One downside is it is a bit cramped. But other than that no complaints.
