I don’t understand if a customer placed the order as Take out then it should be given to customer in a bag automatically. After receiving the order at front counter, cashier said I didn’t select/pay bag charges while placing order so NO BAG, therefore it is treated as Dine in. If there is a charge for Bag, then it should be automatically added in the order to make the experience better in TAKE OUT order. Otherwise what’s the use/ meaning of take out order.

Ordered at 730. Waiting until 840. Still no driver assigned. Order still says prepping. Had to cancel the order after waiting over an hour without any compensation or explanation. Never order off Uber.

This is the only McDonald's within the national park area. You'll need to travel to Golden, BC to the west or Canmore, AB to the east to find the next closest McDonald's around.
This McDonald's is always packed as its location is at the centre of the busy tourist area. Expect to wait a while. However, because of their popularity, food is very fresh and hot consistently!
I grabbed a McChicken sandwich here, and it was fresher and hotter than I typically get from Macdonald's elsewhere. It always tastes better if the chicken patty has not been sitting in the warming tray long.
Will stop here again if I need a quick bite in town.

I’ve been visiting Banff for the past 20 years, and to be honest, I used to avoid this McDonald’s entirely. Years ago, I had such a poor experience that I never considered going back — until 2024, when someone encouraged me to give it another try.
I was blown away.
The transformation is incredible. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by a warm, professional, and genuinely kind team. Their positive energy and friendly service immediately changed the tone of my visit and made me feel at ease — something I hadn’t expected from a fast-food restaurant.
The cleanliness is another major improvement. The upstairs washroom is now clean and well-maintained (though regular checks every 30 minutes to 1 hour would help keep it that way). The downstairs washroom, despite the heavy foot traffic, is impressively clean and functional — well done to the staff who keep it that way!
One of the most unexpected highlights is the upper lobby. It’s thoughtfully designed — ideal for professionals, remote workers, or anyone needing a peaceful spot to sit, work, or relax. Even with the joyful noise of families and global tourists around, the layout somehow creates a calm, comfortable atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal, chat with friends, or focus on work without distraction.
It’s clear that this McDonald’s is now being managed with care, professionalism, and attention to detail. In my opinion, you’ve exceeded expectations and outshone many local restaurants — and yes, even Starbucks.
To the entire team: thank you. You’ve not only changed my view of this location — you’ve set a new benchmark. Keep up the great work!
