Excellent service and even better views. Recommend the short rib and gazpacho.

This was a magical night! Our party of 7 took the gondola to the top of the mountain, walked around taking tons of pictures, then had an amazing meal at the Sky Bistro! Everything was fantastic, especially the Bison filet, the short ribs, the pork, and the cod - everyone enjoyed their meal! We also had a few appetizers (the Bison tartare was delicious as was the seafood chowder). We had 8:15 reservations and had incredible drinks at a high top table at the bar until our table was ready (which took a little longer since they were resetting a large table for us near the floor to ceiling windows so we could all enjoy the incredible views and the sunset, and we greatly appreciated that!) Our server Sophia could not have been better - she was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and polite, and kept us on schedule without feeling rushed so we were ready to go in time for the last gondola down the mountain. Compliments to Chef Kurtis, I can honestly say that the Bison filet was the BEST meal I have ever had (and I'm in my 60s and a foodie!) The sauce was so flavorful but not salty and all the sides and accoutrements were perfect complements to the bison. It is a bit pricey but was definitely worth it for us as it was our last night in Banff on our Canadian Rockies journey to celebrate Grandma's 90th birthday! Don't miss out - reserve it now! Thank you again to our hostess who gave us the best table, and especially to Sophia and Kurtis for making our night so special!

Charly made the last night of our honeymoon so special, and it was so lovely to meet a Banff native! We were delighted with the quality of the food and service; the short rib was a particular favourite. The rainy sunset made the setting even more magical.

The view is everything! Would not purchase the buffet again as it was not worth the price.

Overpriced and underwhelming. $30 for a lamb starter that’s a complete joke — barely two spoonfuls. Entrées at $50–$80 come with tiny portions and no proper sides. The duck was definitely not a full breast, maybe half or less. And the cod tasted like a bland COVID meal — no flavor at all. For these prices, I expected much better.
P.S. The photos actually make the dishes look bigger and better than they were — I guess I was just trying to justify the price with pictures.

The service was phenomenal. The resturant was beautiful but very loud. The food was good but the portions were very small and a few more options would have been nice. However, the view made all the less favorable things worth it.

We were absolutely thrilled with our experience at the Sky Bistro in Banff!
We shared several starters, including the kohlrabi apple salad and the beef tartare – both were incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. The real highlight, however, was the main course: the bison steak was cooked to perfection and exceeded all our expectations. We ended the evening with the delicious pistachio dessert, which was the perfect finish to an outstanding meal.
What truly made the night unforgettable was the exceptional service. Our server Maddy went above and beyond – her attentiveness and warmth elevated the entire experience. A big thank you also to Jack, Elise, and Maddy (as support) for their dedication and hospitality.
We wholeheartedly recommend making the trip up the gondola for this one-of-a-kind dining experience. You won’t regret it!

A must-visit restaurant you can reach by taking the gondola! First of all, the view is absolutely breathtaking. After riding the gondola up, we simply sat down, soaked in the scenery, enjoyed a cocktail, and shared two appetizers along with their house bread — everything was fantastic.
The seafood chowder came topped with flying fish roe. At first, I thought it might be a strange combination, but the creamy soup paired with the popping texture of the roe was simply outstanding. It was a chowder unlike anything I’ve ever had before.
The tartare was made with bison instead of beef, which was unique. It didn’t have any unpleasant smell and tasted fresh. The crackers served with it weren’t that great, but eating it with the warm house bread instead made it absolutely delicious!
