We had a wonderful sunset fireside experience at The Juniper in Banff this weekend. The setting is absolutely stunning — watching the sun set over the mountains by the fire made the evening feel truly special. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and the cocktails were a standout — creative, well-balanced, and clearly crafted with care. What really made the experience exceptional was the staff: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening.Special thanks to Ankit, Sid and Leo. A cozy, memorable experience and a perfect way to enjoy Banff. Highly recommend.

We celebrated our 8th anniversary at Juniper Bistro, and it was, without exaggeration, the best dining experience we've ever had. We took the very last reservation at 8:15 PM, and despite the restaurant closing at 8:30 PM, we never once felt rushed—a true testament to their incredible hospitality. Our server, Amy, is by far the best server we have ever encountered anywhere. She is incredibly personable, has amazing energy, and was exceptionally helpful with menu suggestions and allergy accommodations. She truly went above and beyond, seating us right in front of the fire, keeping it well-lit throughout our meal, and even snapping some beautiful photos of us to remember our special day. The chefs here are brilliant; not a single dish disappointed. We paired our meal with delicious mocktails—the botanical vermouth spritz and the silent flight raspberry mojito. Following Amy's expert recommendation, we started with the wild blueberry baked brie, which was absolutely delicious and the beetroot & elderberry medley. For the mains, the Alberta honey fried chicken and the bison tasting were flawless. We loved that this selection gave us variety, allowing us to sample the housemade Saskatoon sausage, ribeye, and smoked brisket. We finished the night with the Saskatoon tiramisu and a complimentary peach & raspberry sorbet that Amy provided for our anniversary. The flavors were perfectly on point, with every ingredient complementing the next. Huge kudos to the kitchen team and a massive thank you to Amy for making our anniversary so unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!

I enjoyed the Wild Mushroom Rigatoni. My friend who has a picky taste tried the Corn Sopes and she did not like it at all. We also tried the Plant-Based Discovery Sampler and did not realize everything would be pickled. 5/10

The food & drink was incredible for everybody in our party. Especially my very picky 8 year old. Can't wait to go back again

Perfect diner by the fireside- no view as the sun set so early, but our server was beyond wonderful- as all seem to be around here- and we sat by the fire and tried the food he recommended- it was a hit with the teens and kids who tried everything and we loved it. It's a bit out of town, so parking is free and easy, located inside a very interesting and beautiful hotel.

Amazing little quaint bistro with a fabulous view! The food was delicious, service was quick and friendly and the location is so serene. If you want a quiet peaceful brunch spot right outside of main Banff this is the spot! We ordered the Bennie’s and they were so delicious. Elmer was an amazing server :)

I had the fried chicken, and shared the mushroom paparadelle. These were both very tasty. We should have shared these as the portions were generous, but had no trouble finishing.

We stopped at Juniper Bistro for brunch and loved it. We shared the smoked salmon Benny, and they smoke the salmon in-house which made it so good. We also had the Smoked Duck Brioche with house-smoked duck prosciutto on brioche with kale, whipped cream cheese, blueberry compote and chive oil. Both dishes were fantastic.

The service was super friendly and the vibe was relaxed. Such a great stop and we’d definitely come back.

Service was friendly, really great stop.

This is truly one of banff's gems. I was blessed to have the opportunity to try the 5 course meal here, while I was more particular to some dishes over others. The Juniper Bistro delivers creativity to each dish and they make vegetables the star of the show.

From the 5 course meal my absolute favorite dish was the Stuffed Squash Tamal the sauce of this dish was a fine mixture of red peppers with garlic and took you on a journey with the different notes in the dish. I will definitely have this again while the desert was a delicate rhubarb cake base paired with coconut ice cream while rocky mountain chocolate shards were added to the top.

The dishes were elegantly paired with the wines and my favorite wine that night was Black Sage Vineyard I have never tasted a wine so sweetly delicate.

Our server Jeremy was fantastic and very knowledgeable with the items of the 5 course meal.

To the couple beside us that made our night extra blessed thank you also!

The mushroom pasta and potato skillet were flavorless. My husband enjoyed the chicken. I definitely would not recommend.
