Delicious Japanese Onigiri, Matcha Lattes and more! New Shop in Banff
This ended up being one of the biggest highlights of the trip.
The onigiri was outstanding. some fillings stood out more than others, but every single one was fresh, generously filled, and packed with flavor. The plum one really knocks you out , be warned. The real surprise, though, was the mochi. Hands down the Softest freshest mochi dough. ever.
The shop itself is quite small, with only a couple of tables and a small bar area, so don’t expect a ton of seating....read full review

this is definitely out favorite place to eat in both Canmore and Banff! Even the cold version is so tasty! Hojicha is also delicious.

Yama Onigiri is a delicious and filling lunch spot in Banff, known for its excellent Japanese riceballs. The onigiri are stuffed with generous toppings, featuring fluffy and perfectly cooked rice. Specific highlights include the extremely delicious Hokkaido Scallop onigiri and the excellent scallop onigiri. The mushroom miso soup and pork miso soup are also favorites. The matcha and strawberry matcha are excellent and delicious. The staff is very friendly, kind, welcoming, and helpful. The restaurant has a cute overall atmosphere with a manga corner. It is considered the perfect after-ski food and a top reason to visit Banff.
