We were disappointed in this one. While I understand there are pending renovations coming, I think the restaurant should have really communicated that with reservations. The view out was a pile of debris. Even when we sat, the attendant jokingly said to 'look up'. The food was mediocre. Its a drive to get there so our last night felt like a bit of a flop. Given the circumstances, a few extra touches like a complimentary dessert and cocktail would have gone a long way in my opinion. We wouldn't go back.
We had an outstanding dinner at the Primose. I would consider another trip to Banff to have the Potato Pavé again—kudos to the chef. Our servers (Finn at breakfast and Gustavo at dinner) were delightful and efficient.
Mice running around the restaurant!! Absolutely disgusted, didn't see them until we'd eaten! They said it was because they were in a national park! Rubbish! No restaurant should have mice!
I like current restaurant, but last time -Not impressed. Food was ok, price high. Salmon overcooked. Brownie was too hard to cut peace by spoon.
I was expecting a wonderful meal, but was disappointed in the quality of the food. There were only a few tables occupied at 7PM, which should have been a clue.
Excellent food and service. We ordered the scallops and the Bison Rigatoni—both outstanding. As an Italian American, I can attest that the pasta and rich flavors of the bison ragu were authentic and memorable. Service was attentive, prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant, and the views were incredible.
Nice restaurant with large view windows. Service excellent.,Breakfast buffet and off the menu good. Dinner - soup was too salty, salmon well prepared, chicken with pasta a bit rich with the truffle sauce. Closing in October while hotel is remodeled.
We both had the seared scallops as appetizers. They were very nice but only 3 scallops per plate. My wife had the halibut and said it was overcooked and needed a sauce to add flavour. I had the braised beef short rib and it was very good. Prices were steep but that is normal for the Banff area.
Our waitress made the experience special. The salmon was sockeye which is not a favorite; if it had been identified on the menu we would not have ordered it. The chocolate dessert was delicious.
We were attended exceptionally while at the hotel by all from our arrival to our departure

Every year I've been going to the Mothers Day brunch I've not had a bad experience. Over all I recommend this brunch to everyone.
Excellent customer service. Riley was very professional and has shown expertise in providing services to his clients. My kids asked to celebrate their birthdays at Primrose annually. I'm sincerely grateful for making my daughter feel extra special on her birthday. Thank you!
Good food, beautiful restaurant, great view but wish our service was a little more attentive.
Our second time in 'Primrose', excellent. And Riley was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and asked the chef for the delicious 'smoked' salmon (Atlantic 😉) recipe. Thank you!
Was there for Easter brunch with my wife and two teenage sons. The buffet layout was very awkward and difficult to manage. Was $89 per person and was nothing special, standard brunch fare. Several dishes sat out too long and not refreshed, dry and/or cold. Service was good (for a buffet). Most annoying thing was on top of the $89 they charged $5 each for my son's fountain pop. Better brunch options out there.
