Great Korean BBQ with high quality ingredients and a wide selection of meats. We got the beef combo for two and enjoyed everything that it came with. The side dishes, soup, and cheese corn were all excellent as well. Service was great, and atmosphere made for an enjoyable dining experience.

First time there. It was our anniversary we were going to go to Montanas. When we got there we saw this place. Never done a BBQ house before and what an enjoyable experience. The wait staff was sooo friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and we had such a good time. We will be back one day.

Overall I think Baekjeong is really good, I really enjoyed the side dishes and the meat was also very high quality. We tried the AYCE menu and there was lots of variety to choose from. Our server Shania was really nice and attentive despite it being busy during dinner. Usually at other korean bbq places I find the servers to be dismissive and slightly rude but Shania was nice and always topped up our waters and got us extra side dishes quickly when we asked.

Highlight of the meal was definitely the side dishes for me though, by far the best side dishes for any korean place.

Today I went to a restaurant for a meal and chose the all-you-can-eat option for two adults and two children. I ordered tempura đŸ€, and after taking one bite, I saw that the shrimp still had the black vein (intestinal tract) inside — it was full of dirty stuff. I immediately called over a staff member and asked if I could speak with the manager. They said no problem.

When the manager arrived and asked what happened, they said they would go check in the kitchen. Then they tried to take the shrimp away. I said I hadn’t taken a photo yet and needed to. The manager said he was about to leave. I had to raise my voice a bit and say multiple times that I needed to take a photo. After going back and forth three or four times, he reluctantly let me take one unclear photo.

A few minutes later, another person — likely the owner, since he wasn’t wearing a staff uniform — came over and told me that their tempura shrimp were pre-cooked and purchased from a supplier, so there was nothing they could do about it. I asked, “So what’s your solution?” They just said, “I am sorry.”

I said, “That’s your solution? You should be glad it was me who ate it and not one of the children.” They asked what I said, and I repeated, “So there’s really nothing you can do?” He replied again, “Sorry.”

I don’t understand how a restaurant can operate like this. Their food clearly has food safety issues and risks, and yet they try to shift responsibility by saying it wasn’t prepared in-house so they can’t do anything. I want to ask — does it take a massive food safety crisis for government authorities to step in and regulate them?

If I buy something from a supermarket and there’s a problem, can the supermarket also just say, “We didn’t make the product so we can’t help”? Does it take a serious incident like the one at Tim Hortons before serious inspections are carried out?

Seafood in particular requires much stricter food safety standards, and yet this is how they chose to handle it. It’s truly disappointing.

When we went to pay, no one even offered us the dessert ice cream that was included in the meal — I had to remember it myself and ask them before they brought it. It really wasn’t a good experience at all, so I didn’t leave any tips.

I’m only sharing this to let others know about their service.
