A restaurant made for hyperbole. This may be the best food we’ve had at ANY restaurant. 4 people, 8 plates (and a ninth for desert). Each plate was 10/10 good. Wonderful service, great playlist, and a volume that meant you could hear what was playing but not have to shout over the table.Basically, our new fave Calgary restaurant. Amazing.
Stopped in for a little afternoon snack and was pleasantly surprised by the food and presentation. We had a cocktail (which was very tasty) and the tuna with papaya slaw, along with the twice cooked potatoes. Had to try the dessert too and it was prepared with the same creative plating as the other items. Creativity and taste 5/5. Bonus 30% off appetizers and drinks 4-5. We will be back.

Came here for the YYC experience tasting menu and was really excited to try but left feeling like the food and experience could have improved. Our server was awkward, had long pauses and did not check up on us. Dinner was long, courses were forgotten and not once were we offered more drinks. The shrimp green goddess salad was mushy and over powering with dill - no puffed rice as the menu listed. The Steak Frites was good, but our server did not ask how we liked it prepared. Our Crème Brule dessert course was forgotten, but when it came out, although small, was quite tasty. We also ordered the tartare (4/5) and squid ink pasta (3/5). Having tried previous restaurants from Duncan, Bar Chouette fell short of our expectations and unfortunately we won't be back.

We were here on a Monday night and it was moderately busy. While 4 out of the 5 dishes we had were good, the service was extremely lacking and awkward. The tables are super close together so if you were unlucky and got sat beside loud guests who had super explicit conversations, it could really ruin the mood of dinner. Whenever the server attended to the tables next to us, their backside would literally touch our table. We also waited awhile for our mains and our server completely forgot our desserts.

Love everything that chef here does. Lately feels reinvigorated and inspired. Looking forward to many great experiences here and bringing friends here. Last visit was a Chinese New year pop up and it was lively, fun and delicious.

Extensive service, modern and vibrant atmosphere, scrumptious dishes and refreshing cocktails.
I really wanted to like it here because I loved Foreign Concept and was excited for the food.I came for my birthday dinner on February 5 with four girlfriends. We were liking the dishes we shared until the server brought us a dish we didn’t order. She was the most rude server I have ever encountered. She snapped at us saying rudely “you did order this, I heard you.” Over and over. The whole table of 5 of us knew we didn’t order this. After fighting with us a bit longer, she went to the owner and rolled her eyes at us while talking to him, and then eventually took it off the menu.I was so uncomfortable and it ruined the rest of the evening. Please hire better servers - and train them to write orders down so they remember - and then to be kind to customers.

Such a gem for the neighborhood! Elegant but trendy atmosphere, great food that makes you want to come back, and service was attentive and friendly.
