The waitress at Bank and Baron pointed us here, calling it the perfect Irish dive bar—and she was 1,000% right. This place delivered on every single thing we were craving. Dark, a little dank, overflowing with character and history… honestly, it was exactly the kind of authentic pub energy we needed after a painfully uneventful stop at Bank and Baron.
Huge thanks to the amazing staff at the Bear and Kilt for rescuing our night and turning it into something genuinely memorable.
If you’re hunting for a proper Irish dive bar, do yourself a favour and check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

Very tight and compact restaurant but they have amazing food, met a drunk guy there and he almost fell over, 10/10 Irish pub experience i would definitely reconsider this place to other people.
Horrible costumer service. Refused service to someone in a wheelchair. Discrimination at its finest. Hope this is brought to the news

Horrible service. The staff was very rude to a handicapped person in a wheelchair. Staff refused to take the customers order after telling them it was okay to climb down the two flights of stairs! Absolutely ridiculous!!! I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Costumer service sucks & the food isn’t that good.

Not accessible with a wheelchair, and staff are condescending and rude, nvm no accessibility is ILLEGAL. Disabled woman in a wheelchair was made to crawl down the stairs, then refused service, due to THEIR lack of accessibility Sick of businesses treating people like garbage with zero consequence. YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS WITHOUT CUSTOMERS,SHAME ON YOU BEAR AND KILT

I’m very disappointed to hear how someone was treated at your establishment. It’s absolutely shameful and mean to refuse service to someone who was simply trying to celebrate their birthday. No one deserves to be treated that way especially in a public place that’s supposed to welcome all customers.
What makes this worse is that the individual was in a wheelchair, and the experience showed a complete lack of respect and compassion. Accessibility and equality should be priorities, not an afterthought.
This situation needs to be looked into seriously. The restaurant should contact the person involved, offer a proper apology, and show how they can do better l, including making sure people with disabilities are served and treated with dignity like everyone else.
