My husband wants to rate this way lower, but I thought honestly it was mediocre. The food presentation was nice, the service was on point - but the food itself lacked flavor and was underwhelming. My husband got the ‘naanwich’ and he was disappointed by the style of Nan as it was not your traditional naan - more like Safeways version. The lamb lacked flavor especially for an Indian style dish and was also a little dry. The fries: short, greasy, overcooked.I got the ‘Fried chicken dinner’ - wish I had got something else as the flavours were underwhelming, lacked soul for soul food. The corn waffle was very dry, I know it’s supposed to be similar to corn bread, but it needed some gravy or syrup.. something to bring it all together. I got a Cesar salad on the side and I did enjoy that - bacon was crispy, the dressing was really good, almost had a bit of sweetness to it and the croutons were well seasoned. All in all had high hopes and the menu sounds so amazing, but just wasn’t well executed.

Got seated by the window which was so lovely. Didn’t have to wait at all on a Saturday morning. Got the bacon tomato benny and it was tasty. Hashbrowns were cooked perfectly, slightly crunchy outside and soft inside.

Blue Star was good overall. Nothing really outstanding but a nice place to eat. Very small but our group had reservations so had really the only large table (or multiple tables pulled together)

What a gem of a place, Calgary is lucky to have you! Excellent coffee, and this green curry rice bowl with grilled chicken was such a nice treat while traveling for work. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Went here for brunch and the food was really yummy! I enjoyed the veggie burger and portions are large. It’s a bit squishy in there because if it’s size so it made it a bit hard to converse.

Atmosphere and service was great. But honestly the food looked way better than it tasted. We are unsure if we’ll return.

This place has become a regular date night location. It is small so gets crowded and loud easily but we love the food and service and will continue to return here!

We had an amazing brunch here and they have excellent gluten-free options and definitely know how to prepare food safely! Delicious! I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was phenomenal. Will be back to try everything else on the menu!Dietary restrictions: Many gluten-free options!! Safe for those with Celiac disease

Man, I used to love coming here for breakfast and special nights. They used to have the best burger ever, a Chorizo burger!Times have changed. The burger is gone. The place is looking run down, the shelves are worn and chipped, the tile is stained, the bathroom door takes a herculean effort to open.We went for breakfast recently, and I ordered a hash….it used to come with magical jalapeño cornbread….gone. It was blah, and the portions have shrunk whilst prices have heaved skyward.Sad to add this place, to the ‘used to be good’ growing list in Calgary.
