Loved relaxing on the patio for a moments time mid afternoon was so peaceful and relaxing. The lunch menu was still available so I went for the 6oz NY strip. I have to say I was kind of disheartened by it. But was so hungry ate it quite quickly.. and this was immediately as I received it and was cool/cold. I see all these beautiful char grilled photos of steaks. Med rare. And I order that and mine was like boiled or steamed tasting/texture is how id describe it. Even if it was grilled. Just looked a bit slimy. Not BBQ char grilled in any facet unfortunately.

Service was nice, the girls were great. Enjoyed the happy hour drinks. Thank you for offering a Pinot Noir option. Truly appreciated.

Fries were amazing!

Calamari was beyond small for $20.
And only personal preference not sure if many would agree. But there was so much aoli in the dish? I did switch out the salsa for another sauce choice. But didn't realize it would be on a thick bed of aoli. I personally dont like a ton of sauces. As i enjoy calamari. So it was a bit much for me. Maybe in a bottle and drizzled into the dish?? or knowing now id just ask for both on the side.

Overall still nice just could have been a smidgen better with the steak since that's their main focus and reputation.

Hopefully I'll get back there and get to enjoy the real deal that I see in photos of other reviews! Still recommend though as clearly mine seems like an off day.

I am a wedding photographer in the area, and genuinely this is one of my favourite wedding venues. It is so freaking gorgeous, I could not recommend it enough.

Forever Grateful to Char Bar

After taking the EPPP — the psychology licensing exam — I celebrated with friends at Char Bar. The team there was wonderful, not minding at all when we screamed with joy over the results.

In all the excitement, I accidentally left behind the exam result paper — a deeply sentimental piece for me. By the time I realized, it had already been tossed out. I called in a panic, and to my amazement, they had retrieved it from the trash. But they didn’t stop there.

When I went back to pick it up, I was met with something that brought me to tears: they had framed it.

Luke and the team went out of their way to preserve something that meant so much to me — a crumpled piece of paper, yes, but one that represents years of effort, perseverance, and hope. Having worked in restaurants for over 10 years myself, I know how chaotic and demanding the environment can be. That they took the time to do something so thoughtful is nothing short of extraordinary.

Thank you, Char Bar, for becoming part of my story. I will never forget this kindness. 💛

Just had lunch here and the food was literally unreal, the chicken sandwich was probably the best sandwich I've ever tasted. The patio was super cute and comfy too!

This place is a religious experience. I've never had a steak make me cry before. It's a financial commitment, but the food is unmatched and the service is incredible. Best cocktails and food I've EVER had.

We sat on the back patio for some happy hour and sunshine vibes. 50% off drinks during happy hour, so pretty much 2 for 1 😉

The drinks were fantastic, and the food was incredible! We had some “Red Head” oysters, the charred napa cabbage salad, and the blistered provoleta cheese appies.

We've been here a few times, not bad, especially on the summer terrace

the perfect place for a snack and a glass of beer or wine

I recommend trying the pizza, it's different from typical pizzerias

Food was great but we spent 95% of the time on the patio directing people how to get inside. They really need to sort out some signage on how to enter.
