hubby and I went on a tues and had the pizza and wine night special - we had a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza and a bottle of wine. the pizza was loaded and amazing! The waitress did not let us know her name ,or the specials -we advised her it was our first time there and tried to have a conversation with her - but she wanted nothing to do with it ! it’s too bad about the staff , because the food is great!
If we're ever in Calgary on a Wednesday we make a point of visiting our old stomping grounds in McKenzie Lake to visit Coasters. We love their wings and shrimp deals on Wednesday. If you get the Bam Bam Shrimp be sure to ask for the Cusabie (sp?) dip. It pairs very well with the shrimp.
This place is too good to be true, but it absolutely is what it is: a great neighbourhood local with incredible dollar value. There are some others like it in the city: great food, service that is reminiscent of Cheers and, of course, budget friendly. It is hard to understand the pricing of drinks in other places when Coasters has 2006 pricing! $4.75 for a 20 oz PBR (on wing night)?!? Nevermind all the other great daily specials. This is my "go to" for wings or when...
