D Spot Dessert Cafe Calgary 17th Ave

The service and the food was poor. Had to ask for everything repeatedly (i.e. food served with no napkins or cutlery, no one cleaning plates when empty, no offer to refill empty water, etc.). Our waiter was on his phone and just not overly interested in customer service. The food was below average (think GFS fare) and VERY expensive. The nachos were cold in the middle and burnt on the edges and the « chipotle » chicken was slimy and tasted nothing like chipotle or chicken for that matter. The skillet cookie ($25!!) was undercooked and small for the price. The poutine was served with generic gravy and the presentation looked nothing like on the picture (none of the toppings), but it was at least served hot. The ice cream was served in a paper cup and again, below average quality for the steep price.

You can tell they have a lot of fake five star reviews to drown out the bad ones. Lots of repeated reviews and the posters only have one review (this place). It’s easy to buy reviews and this place / Adi makes it their goal to buy lots of them, so beware.

The place isn’t bad, but as a first timer, it would have been nice to know that the dishes are WAY too big for kids. I work in the industry and let people know when they are ordering too much. We wasted so much food because my 7 and 9 year olds could not finish their waffles. It’s not about the money, it’s about the economy and the fact that people are starving and we had to throw away perfectly good food because the server could not honestly communicate… why? For the sale?

The coffee was bitter and gross. 3 desserts and 3 drinks were $120 so be ready to spend money on literally a waffle with ice cream.

Server also seemed like she didn’t really want to be there… I don’t know. I won’t be back.

The dish was an absolute delight! Every bite was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that perfectly complemented each other. The seasoning was spot-on, enhancing the natural taste of the ingredients without overpowering them. Truly a memorable culinary experience!

Ordered the Dubai cake cups for pick (which are 20 dollars each) and they gave us the cups barely filled…?
Desserts taste good but the service and presentation is never the same, also the amount you get is not worth how much they charge. Try a different d spot or avoid altogether.

Came to celebrate a birthday and it couldn't have gone better. The food was a hit and Adi made sure everything went smoothly.

No special reason, just wanted to enjoy something nice - and we did! Adi gave us a great experience from start to finish.

Tried D Spot for a date - good choice! The mood was right, the food was great, and Adi kept things smooth , gave us corner table . Perfect!!!

Ahmed is a gorgeous and kind hearted man, welcomed me in with open arms and a big smile. 11/10 recommend.

Had the strawberry cheesecake parfait and it was so good! Ahmed was nice and attentive and the desserts came out quickly! Open late as well:)

Red velvet cheesecake was really good-10/10. For sweet tooth people, chocolate cake is 😋-moist and not dry. Our server-Nav was also great. She was attentive.
