Everything was excellent. Food was great. We had a larger space upstairs to accommodate the size of our group. It was perfect. The space was decorated for the holidays, server was generally attentive. Nice view out the windows. Unfortunate issue with the wood burning. Our clothes and hair smelled strongly of smoke upon leaving. Things happen. Only opportunity for improvement was in getting the bill quickly. I mentioned having time constraints and advised time I needed to leave....
We were there for brunch. Ordered 3 eggs bennys, 1 croque monsieur, and sides for the kids(bacon and potato rosti). We were surprised at the food temperature wghich came out slightly warmer than room temperature. The potato rosti were cool.
Beautiful food full of flavour and presented to be pleasing to the eye. Ginger Beets appetizer was outstanding: a Calgary invention of "ginger beef" reimagined and vegetarian too. Excellent service. Charming historic building.
