Another hidden gem in the heart of Calgary’s Chinatown. Their hainanese chicken was very simple yet tasty. It is highly recommended! The taiwanese 3cups chicken is also must try, the sauce is incredible. If you’re in DT Calgary, you should try their food out.

I tried the Hainanese style chicken meal here and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the rice had that authentic fragrance I was hoping for. They also served a complimentary pork soup on the side, it was tasty and comforting, a perfect match to the meal. Portion size was generous, and the flavors really reminded me of true comfort food. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Definitely a hidden gem in Chinatown, I’ll be coming back for sure!

We hit Deep Fried Master in the City Plaza Mall in China Town twice during our Calgary vacation, and the food was fantastic both times. Across the two outings, we ordered: [1] Hainanese-style chicken, [2] popcorn chicken, and [4] rotato combo with deep-fried lamb skewers. All of food was delicious - the fry on the popcorn chicken and rotato skewer was not too oily nor drenched in batter, and the flavors matched what you expect from Taiwanese-style fried street foods (similar in taste to Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks in the Bay Area). The lamb skewers and the Hainanese chicken rice with the ginger sauce were also very flavorful. The prices were reasonable - large portions for what we paid for. The food comes out a little slower though given Deep Fried Master seems to be a one-man operation. The dining area was small but clean. The restrooms are in the common area of the City Plaza Mall, shared by all restaurant tenants.

We ordered takeout from here and were very impressed by their popcorn chicken.
This is definitely a hole in the wall place in Calgary's Chinatown. The Hainanese chicken rice is delicious and their staff is really friendly. The only downside is that it is a smaller place with a few tables and it lacks a bit of a nice sit-down atmosphere. I can see their main clientele are Skip and take homes, which is a bit of a bummer if you wanted to enjoy the food in the restaurant freshly cooked. I would definitely recommend checking it out though. Their food really is superb and compensates the lack of atmosphere.

Tried out a number of the $14 set meals over 6 different visits and it's always been delicious. I am addicted to the lamb skewers so I get them every visit. Kids will love the rotato. Their hours show 8pm closing but I've visited a few minutes before 9pm and they didn't turn me away.

I had combo A and share with my friends and her kids. Its big portions come to the price only $10.99 for 2 big potato tornado and 2 lamb skewers and medium honey ice tea. The potato tornado is usually $6-7 in Richmond night market in BC. Perfect for ppl to share some small treats after regular meal. There are also many choices of lunch meal box. Definitely will come back to get some more food next time.
