Lucky Place Restaurant, located in Calgary’s Chinatown, offers authentic Chinese food. The sweet and sour pork is amazing, crispy and tender with a perfectly balanced sauce. Other dishes like beef brisket noodles, 3 treasures (tofu, eggplant and pepper) stuffed with shrimp paste, and scallion chicken are delicious and fresh. The take-out special fried rice is also freshly made with a great portion size. Each dish is beautifully presented. The service is fast, attentive, and super outstanding, though staff are traditional and may seem loud and rushed, similar to Hong Kong style, but are efficient and kind. The restaurant is a quiet gem inside a small plaza, with a dated interior that doesn’t look particularly clean or tidy but is not unbearable. Prices are a bit high but worth it. The restaurant offers peace for dining, low cost for lots of food, and a convenient spot for cyclists.
