To top it off, 70% of my platter was just lettuce and veggies—I basically paid $15 for a salad with a side of mediocre tandoori chicken and rice. Definitely not shawarma chicken.
With places like Jerusalem and Shawarma Palace as competition, serving small bits of chicken won’t cut it. I hope the owners take this as constructive feedback to improve both quality and portion sizes so this place can thrive in the community for years to come.

We ordered two platters in Uber eats, and they were too cold to the core when arrived, not cold like because of delivery, but cold like it was never warm. The portions were really small, and despite indicating in the instructions that we don't want any spicy sauce, they were clearly hot. Also only one small piece of bread was included, for two platters that we ordered. I don't know how their food would be if you order in-store (and I will never know), but definitely not a go-to when ordering online.

Usually I love Shawarma. This was not only the worst Shawarma I’ve ever eaten, but it is a strong contender for the worst meal I’ve ever had in Calgary in nearly 10 years of living here. That being said, the service was decent.

Has this placed changed owners? I haven't been in a while and went in to get a Shawarma Poutine, and the recipe and quality have both gone downhill. I was hungry, so I ate most of the toppings and tossed away the rest.
In the past, my husband and I went to Donair Palace quite often to get our fix of a donair even driving out of our way as it WAS that good. Unfortunately, we will no longer go here for donairs or even food. The Donair Palace has changed owners. On Thursday, November 14, 2024 I purchased 2 donairs (one was a regular size for me and a super size for my husband). The donair meat didn’t even taste the same (very bland) and the new owners were very stingy with the donair meat. My husband’s donair looked like a regular size donair and my regular size donair was mostly vegetables with a minuscule amount of donair meat. I hope the new owners read this review so they change their behaviour regarding their stinginess and be more generous with the donair meat or they will lose A LOT of business. Sigh, now I have to find a new donair place. AND if you have noticed, 99% of the recent reviews that have been posted in the past 1-2 months that are positive have been posted by their Indian friends..

The quality of the donair meat itself is quite good. It's more generous on toppings than beef, for the regular size I got.
Could use a little improvements on the inside and some nicer signs but I didn't get sick so that's good enough for me as I have a picky stomach.

New owners, this place is not what it used to be $16 for a salad that used to be amazing!! 1/2 the amount of chicken and not the same flavour, will not go back, so disappointed used to go at least 1x a week!

Been coming here for years first as a student and still as an adult and have seen this place go through 4 different owners now. Unfortunately I think this last owner will be the death of the place. The staff is slow and unorganized. the quality of the food has fallen as well. This place does not even have beef during a lunch rush cause the forgot to put one on. Very unfortunate. I don’t think I’ll be back a 3rd time

It’s under new management and these are nice people. But the food has downgraded a lot and why is there seafood in a shawarma place? the shawarmas are much smaller and fries taste like cardboard. they’re kind but keep asking you to stay and give store bought stuff for a pretty high price. to takeaway you need to pay extra and that’s without a bag.
