Flower and Wolf Calgary Reviews
My family and I have spent past Christmas dinners at this restaurant, and until now it had always delivered an enjoyable and high-quality holiday meal. This year was a complete departure from the standard we once trusted, and it was deeply disappointing from start to finish.
Our table placement showed a lack of consideration for guest comfort. We were seated directly beside the entrance, and a coat rack behind us created constant disruptions. Every time someone retrieved...read full review
First of all I have to mention the staff. If I could 10 star review I would. We have never had service like this from the management to the kitchen to the waiters and waitresses. Fantastic. This restaurant not only redeemed itself but surpassed our expectations beyond. Truly everything was amazing and the staff not only made sure we were happy but ensured we were. The food was perfect our experience will be told to everyone we can share the experience with. Thank you all for everything...read full review
Thank you to our wonderful server/bartender today for Mother’s Day brunch. I’m sorry I didn’t ask your name. You really made my mom’s day. And thanks for being so nice about her extra specific poached egg requirements. Soft/medium with zero hard parts and zero runny whites is tough to pull off, but she said they were perfect 👌👌 kudos to the kitchen. And we’re definitely making “The Jo” our 2022 summer drink!

Flower and Wolf Calgary offers a variety of dining experiences. For dinner, they serve items such as calamari, sizzling shrimp, a 10 oz steak, pepperoni pizza, and kale Caesar. The calamari and steak have received positive reviews, while the sizzling shrimp and pizza were described as merely good and mediocre, respectively. The service is friendly and attentive, with some customers noting excellent service from staff members. However, there is feedback that the server's knowledge of the menu items could be improved. Some diners feel the prices are a bit high for the quality of the food.
The restaurant also offers a vibrant brunch experience, including a buffet with many options such as an omelette station, prime rib and lamb station, breakfast favorites, cheeses, fresh fruits, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, shrimp, salmon, sushi, chicken selections, a chocolate fountain, and various desserts. A kids' station features pizza, chicken strips, fries, and mac and cheese. Reviewers mention that the hot items are sometimes not consistently warm, and the brunch costs $100 per person, which some find expensive. Many appreciate the variety and the ability to enjoy several dishes, with some noting that the dishes come in appetizer-sized portions, allowing for trying multiple items. The atmosphere is bright with beautiful decor, and parking is easy to find nearby.
Recent visitors enjoyed their early dinner, noting that the food was excellent, with well-cooked appetizers and main courses, and reasonable portions. The ambiance was lively, although the music volume was a bit high for some. Service was described as okay. Others chose Flower & Wolf for a family Thanksgiving brunch and praised the à la carte buffet menu, highlighting items like avocado & hash brown, prosciutto & ricotta, AAA AB beef brisket, AB beef marrow, and fun options like smoothie & cotton candy. They appreciated the chef checking in to ensure everything was satisfactory and the friendly, patient service, especially with demanding family members. The bright decor created a pleasant atmosphere, and parking was convenient. The price of $39 was considered a great deal. A group of friends also enjoyed brunch, noting the dishes were flavorful and served hot and fresh, though they found the service somewhat slow and sometimes difficult to flag down for more dishes or drinks.
Recent reviews add more perspective: one guest attended a birthday brunch and felt the food was mass-produced and kept under a lamp, with some items like the smoothie bowl and yogurt warm rather than fresh. Others enjoyed the salad and chicken waffle, describing their experience as overall good with a reasonable price. Another reviewer booked the AYCE Brunch, noting the wide variety of choices but mentioning that not everything matched their taste. They enjoyed the mac and cheese and coffee with croissant, but found some dishes, like Bone Marrow canoe, too salty. They waited about 10-15 minutes before being attended to but appreciated that once served, the food arrived continuously. They suggest servers could better divide their areas for more efficient service. Overall, they enjoyed their time and found the staff accommodating.
Another recent guest tried the bottomless brunch, calling it one of the best in the city and worth the cost. While they praised the food and ambiance, they felt service was lacking—water was not refilled for two hours, and plates needed to be requested to be cleared. When requesting water refills, the server appeared dissatisfied and questioned who their actual server was. They also ordered a mimosa flight, which they found tasty and strong. Despite some service shortcomings, the overall brunch experience was positive.
