Golden Jade Palace Seafood & Dim Sum Restaurant

My family and I were in Calgary for a day and decided to stop by Golden Jade for dinner. Not only was everything delicious, we were so touched by the thoughtfulness of the staff. They started our meal off with some winter melon soup and gave us free dessert. We throughly enjoyed our dinner!

We stopped by for a late dinner on Saturday. The dining hall is huge with very little occupancy at the time.
Coming from a big city in California, we definitely feel the price was very acceptable. We ordered lobster noodles and Peking duck in three dishes. The drinks and desserts were good too.
They can accustom to our baby food request to have the soup cooked with no salt.
A very pleasant dining experience!

ordered on saturday for a typical western order (noodles, ginger beef, chicken, rice) … probably the worst chinese food ever. I don’t get the positive reviews- i also want my $100 back.

My husband and I tried this restaurant as it has high reviews and close to our place.

First red flag was when they gave us utensils that are old and not matching, and also a chipped plate.

We got our first order which is diced beef with ginger and onion. The plate has maybe 100grams of beef and 400 grams of carrots and zucchini which cost $20+

Then we received deep HALF fried chicken drizzled with garlic which again costs $20+

And then we got served our appetizer which is two balls of fake crab which cost around $8 each.

Lastly, they served us the fried rice we ordered.

Overall, it took them almost an hour to serve us our food. Food is like 4/10.

What put me off the most is the server asking us for tip. She even went to our table and ask us to give her a tip because she said it’s not included in what we paid. She literally mentioned “tip” maybe ten times.

We didn’t tip because we didn’t like their service and the food. The prices are very unreasonable for the quality of food

They have a great selection and food is tasty without making you thirsty afterwards. We regularly come here so some of the staff recognize us and greet us cheerfully. The restaurant has a bright atmosphere.

I would not order from this place. Bill was $275.00. They gave little tiny containers of sauce for the egg foo youg. $49.90 for two large soups. When I called them they wanted me to drive back to get sauce. Not very good customer service. Beware !!!!

Amazing Dim sum / Chinese food in Panorama, I go here all the time and it’s a great experience every time. One of the best in Calgary in my opinion! 👍

The food was on the pricey side, but the good service made up for it. Unfortunately, this time, the experience was very frustrating.

We ordered steamed lingcod ($38), steamed oysters, and a veggie dish. We discussed steamed shrimp rice, but I told my partner that we had shrimp the night before, so we didn’t order it.

The oysters were good, but then the problem arose: the server tabled the shrimp rice, which we didn’t order. Apparently, the server had heard me say the name of the dish and written it down, but we didn’t really order that! Who would order four dishes for two people? Did she even think of that?

When we insisted that we didn’t order the dish, she said, “Yeah, it’s fine!” (But her tone didn’t say that.) That made us feel bad.

We kept the dish as we didn’t want to waste it, but we ended up canceling the veggie dish instead, which made our meal very heavy without any veggies.

What annoyed me most was that the fish was overcooked and not as smooth as we expected. When we gave our feedback after the meal, we received the reply from the server, “Oh really?” It was a $38 dish and the main dish of the night, and the chef had screwed it up. We didn’t really ask for anything in return, but a sincere apology would be more acceptable.

I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a long while.

If you are a seafood lover, this was the best dimsum place my family recently had.

We have group of 3 for dinner, and 2 group of 7 and 8 walk in after us, food is okay, service is friendly, but it take for ever to bring the food on the table, first dish stri-fry veggies came fast, that’s it after 20 mins still waiting the second dish to come, the later group of 7 and 8 have all the dish out already.order Peking duck 2 items, they forgot about the soup, until we finish the meal and they bring it to the table. I don’t know, maybe 3 of us will spend less money ?

Stopped in for an early lunch on a recent visit to Calgary. Tried some of their dim sum and other dishes. We had their siu mai, rice rolls with fried donut, chicken feet, beef tripe, chicken congee, salted fish and chicken fried rice, and beef chow fun. Everything was very good and tasty. 2 thumbs up. Service was also very good.

Came her the day before Father's Day and it was quite busy. Food was good, but it took them 45min to bring out our first dish. They said they prioritized the larger tables even though we were a table of 7 and ordered 7 dishes. Don't come here if you want something quick as it took us 3 hours to get everything and finish our meal...and we're slow eaters.
