We had a fantastic dinner with Canadian friends tonight. The food was fresh, well cooked and the kitfo was perfectly seasoned. Specially thank u to our server with curly hair sorry I didn't get her name who was attentive and gave us great recommendation.

Habesha Restaurant is a must-visit destination in Calgary, known for its authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The staff are accommodating and willing to go the extra mile, as seen in the case of the shekla tibs and goden or ribs. The food is marvelous, with flavorful dishes like special kitfo, Doro Wat, spicy Habeshas Tibs, lega tibs, and ya tsom beyaynatu, all served with injera, an ancient gluten-free flat bread. Portions are huge, and prices are fair. The restaurant offers a warm welcoming environment, though the interior could use a makeover with better lighting. It is a small, clean place located at the corner of 10th St SW and 17 Ave SW. Highly recommended for solo visits or group gatherings, especially to experience the traditional coffee ceremony. Although the service can be slow, especially during busy times, the excellent flavors and delicious food make every bite enjoyable. For those who enjoy spicy food, the Habeshas Tibs and Doro Wat are must-tries, while those with low spice tolerance might appreciate the alicha shiro. This restaurant is a great introduction to Ethiopian cuisine.
