Went here to celebrate a friends birthday and it was great! I love the food here very well prepared rolls, great service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend

Used Uber Eats to order from here a couple of times but my most recent order left me with food poisoning. The chicken was undercooked and/or bacteria infested. I have had to go to the hospital for IV fluids as unable to keep any fluid down.

The place was packed (Sunday evening). Not as spacious as the other Ikusa restaurant on Macleod Trail. This one offers slightly different Japanese dishes compared to the one on Macleod Trail. Sashimi was fresh, the rolls were ok, the rice were not firm enough. Teriyaki dishes were just right. Noodle bowls were larger than normal. Prices were average for Calgary Japanese restaurants.

Parking: The restaurant is located in Bridgeland area of Calgary, two blocks from the former Calgary General Hospital, across the river from downtown Calgary.

Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu, but they can have noodles, cooked sushi and ice cream

Wheelchair accessibility: Tables can accommodate persons with wheelchairs and walkers. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible as well. There is no disability parking outside on the street.

I took my family for the first time to this restaurant and the only things I can say is that... "people were great (service), the food was amazing and the attention that I got between was phenomenal". I will certainly go back again !!!

Cute restaurant with a neat little Japanese market at the entrance. Their lunch special is pretty hard to beat - $8.50 for a bowl of ramen. Pretty decent - have been back a few times already.

Popped in on a whim while browsing Bridgeland and oh boy was it good. The server was also super friendly and helpful too. Really loved the Tonkotsu Black Ramen and their broccolini, but really it was all good.

EDIT: Increased to 5 star after ordering a spicy black ramen. It was fantastic and the to-go packaging they have to separate the ingredients is very smart to maintain the structure while travelling. Reliable quality and fair pricing!

Have ordered consistently good sushi takeout from IKUSA a few times. The fish always tastes fresh, portion sizes are standard. Only suggestion I have to bump up to a 5 is to lighten up on the sauces and tempura batter crumbs. Offering a side of sushi rice would be a great addition too!
