Murrieta's West Coast Bar & Grill

I just wanted to share my experience dining at Murrieta's last night. I wanted to say that our server Nico was the best server I have had in ages. He was attentive, but not too much. Just right. Pleasant. Offered suggestions. Was prompt responding to any request we made. You have a gem in Nico. Overall what made the evening special was him, plus the food was outstanding as always. He's a keeper!

I have eaten at this restaurant regularly for over 20+ years. Always very good food and very good service. However, the food this time was very average and the portions were almost “French“ style, so tiny. The serving staff seemed disinterested as did the reception staff. Also extremely noisy in the main restaurant. I suppose I won't be back at this location anyway.

Meal consisted of salmon which was nicely cooked & steak & veggies which were a little overcooked. Hero, our waiter was attentive & friendly & guided us with regard to allergies. Restaurant had a good atmosphere.

Super disappointed with my experience. I made a reservation for a birthday celebration with a few friends and we brought a cake as we usually do. When we walked in, we were suddenly informed that there would be a cake-cutting fee for each guest. I’ve never heard of a per-person fee like this and it definitely should have been disclosed ahead of time. Especially since we showed up already carrying the cake. When we asked our server where this was listed on their website, he insisted it was part of their restaurant policy, but it’s nowhere to be found online. It was a genuine question about a charge on our bill, yet he became defensive right away. Overall, the service was disappointing, which is surprising because I’ve had great experiences at Murrieta’s before.

Food was underwhelming, Steak was dry on one end, lamb meatballs were salty and dry. Will miss the ambience though.

One of the best spots in town. Cozy and classy atmosphere. Service is fast and very friendly.
Entrées and sides are delicious and well executed.
The restaurant has a separate seating area that comes with a live band and a dance floor.

We had a terrible time at Murrieta Bar and Grill in Calgary. The service was shockingly bad — we were barely attended to the entire evening and we were a table of 15!!!!! Our drinks were never served, had to keep going and king for things and when the food finally arrived, there was a HAIR in the steak. We brought it up, gave the food away but no one seemed to care or apologize properly. For the prices they charge, this level of service and cleanliness is completely unacceptable. Definitely won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Good service, the chicken sandwich was not great, not enough chicken, too much coating and sauce. some bits were just coating. we had two the same.

Haven't been to Murietta's Calgary in many years, but we went for a post theatre dinner last week and the food was as excellent as it always was. I used to go there a lot on business but this was with friends and all enjoyed it. Very convenient for the theatre also. Had my old favourite and the spaghetti and lamb meatballs was still very very good.

Always great, one of my go to places to bring clients. Staff, environment and food is always great.

Really lovely environment, our server was lovely (can't remember her name sorry) I feel the food would've been nicer had it been busier?... if that makes sense. The restaurant was very quiet only my group was there, The food wasn't hot hot more warm than fresh out the oven but overall was lovely :)

What a great dining experience! We were looking for a date night spot & decided to head back to Murrieta's. It has been a while since our last visit. It was a great decision!

I dine three or four times a year at Murrieta's, and each visit is more enjoyable than the previous one. I arrived ahead of time, and was warmly greeted; my coat was taken and I was seated in the great space that is the main dining area. Perhaps because I am something of a regular, the staff presented me with a little note. My friend arrived and we had a great meal: she had salad and gnocchi, I had calamari and a New York striploin. The only possible "complaint" we could muster about the food was that the salad was quite huge. Service was extremely attentive without being overbearing. Upon arriving I mentioned that we needed to leave at a certain time, and the staff made sure we had regular reports on the time. Service of the food and drinks was really good. What can I say other than this was a top-rate meal, and I look forward to my next visit to Murrieta's.

I always love to grab a meal here. The service is stellar and I would actually love to know what coffee they are using - it's delicious
