Good quality food, great service. Nice selection of sake. I like the vibe and environment. Small good portion tho with a tad of expensive pricing.

Had an incredible experience here over the weekend. Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. The sablefish was some of the best sushi I've ever had. Our server, Yerin, was a standout as well. Extremely attentive, professional, and kind. I would come back in a heart beat.

The Omakase Experience is unlike anything else you will find in Calgary. The quality of the food and service was top notch. The only issue I found was the level of music in the restaurant. For an intimate experience the music was more like a bar setting

Our experience at Nupo Sushi was a major letdown. We walked out with a $350 bill and a feeling of complete dissatisfaction. From the moment we sat down, it was clear something was off: three menus were placed on the table, all confusing and difficult to navigate, and not one server took the time to explain them to us, or recommend alternatives, even after saying it was our first time at Nupo. We ordered a tequila cocktail, which was delicious, but when we switched to tequila sodas, we were surprised to be charged for “signature cocktails.” The only thing that hit the mark was the tuna tartare.

We left hungry and disappointed, and ended up walking home and getting hot dogs from Dogfather. Spending that much on a meal that didn’t satisfy was incredibly frustrating. If I’m going to spend this kind of money, I expect outstanding service and memorable food. We have eaten at a lot of high end restaurants and this will go down as one of the worst experiences. This place is, unfortunately, a hard no-go. Nupo, more like poopoo.

We visited Nupo for the first time tonight, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, everything about this place impressed us. The warm and welcoming atmosphere immediately set the tone for a great evening.

Our server, Hap, went above and beyond to make our evening special. His exceptional service, friendly demeanor, and attention to detail made us feel truly valued as guests. He was knowledgeable about the menu and gave perfect recommendations that we absolutely loved.

Speaking of the food—it was phenomenal! Each dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. You can tell the chefs put their heart and soul into creating an authentic and high-quality sushi experience.

Not only was the food outstanding, but the overall vibe of the restaurant was also inviting and enjoyable. We felt relaxed and cared for, which made our first visit here so memorable.

Thank you, Hap & Nupo, for providing such an exceptional dining experience. We will absolutely be returning and recommending you to everyone we know!

If you have been to any of Maclaren's restaurants, you know it is overpriced and underwhelming; Nupo is no exception. While the food is good and ingredients fresh, you will be left hungry even after a $500 bill. I have been to multiple high end sushi restaurants and although they are expensive, I was never left feeling hungry. The food portion is incredibly small. Be expected to spend $1000/person to be full or save yourself some money and go elsewhere. Beside the high price tag, the atmosphere is also a big turn off. Their music is ridiculously loud you would have the scream at each other. Never again.

Easily one of the best restaurants around. My personal favorite and #1 spot to go to. Amazing food, phenomenal service and outstanding atmosphere. Try the omakase experience - it is well worthwhile!

I recently tried Nupo’s Chef’s Journey, and while the presentation was stunning and ingredients fresh, I left disappointed. Despite the high price, I was seated at a tiny table near the door, which felt far from the exclusive experience promised. Although my server was wonderful—attentive and personable—the portions were shockingly small. I left the restaurant *literally starving* which, given the price, felt unacceptable. Beautifully crafted but ultimately unsatisfying.

Nupo is an unique Omakase experience done right, from start to finish.

Food: All sushi was prepared beautifully on the spot and each had their unique distinction and flavor. All dishes were well thought out and executed. Our palates went on a wondrous journey throughout the experience.

Service: Fantastic. Servers were attentive and prompt. Sushi chef was friendly and approachable.

Atmosphere: Loved the Omakase style. Felt intimate with the food and people sitting at the sushi bar. We even got into a nice friendly chat with another couple.

Value: Expensive. Probably one of the most expensive restaurant in Calgary. However, Nupo provides an unique culinary experience no other place can offer in Calgary. We wouldn't recommend the drink pairing though. You will not be satisfied with the price you pay for them.
