Went for breakfast on Sunday, I recommend a reservation as it was packed , we waited about 40 mins however once seated it was worth the wait , out of the party of four I was with everyone enjoyed the food and drinks, parking was pretty easy to find too

I’m an avid eater of the local restaurants in Calgary and I’ve have never once had such an experience that left me as distraught as this one. As a server myself I’m all for understanding when mistakes happen, as long as communication is present. From the time we ordered our food it took over 50 minutes for it to be brought to us without any notice until the 5 minute before mark. Up to that time multiple tables next to us were sat and ate and gone before we were even communicated anything. The only word I received was there was a mishap, which later asking for clarification it was due to a server forgetting to send the order in. That is unacceptable. Without asking for clarification, I was left to believe it was on the kitchens fault which it was not. After expressing how inexcusable this experience was, and that I no longer wanted the food as it was served right on the dot for when they were closing, we were given a solid $4 off our bill. The only saving grace was another server apologizing on his behalf and taking time to express his disappointment in the dreadful service we experienced, after our current server no longer wanted to acknowledge us or collect the bill. The bare minimum of a water refill would have bumped up a star.
This place has become a staple for us when visiting Calgary. We get the Soul in a Bowl every time, it’s delicious. The decor of the restaurant is amazing and I love the dishes they serve the food in. It’s the perfect spot for brunch, and they also have very clean bathrooms (something I always appreciate but don’t often find)

My husband and I love coming to OEB for their food. It’s always very good and a lively spot. Great variety. Service staff are always warm. However we recently had a baby and went for breakfast and found that their restrooms do not have baby change tables. The women’s washroom has a very narrow counter that isn’t wide enough to safely lay a baby. I would love to see OEB accommodate a space for this. Other restaurants often have the fold down change table located in the wheel chair accessible stall.

I ordered a very simple breakfast. Hard poached eggs and potatoes, through delivery. They arrived completely runny. Very disappointing! Food is so expensive….What a waste of my money.
