Pork bahn mi was amazing!! Great flavor and the bread was perfect! The service was fast and kind. The atmosphere was peaceful.

My top 2 and it ain’t two.

Worst Bun Bo Hue I’ve had. It tasted like regular pho broth, but slightly watered down. No lemongrass or shrimp paste flavour. Decent amount of toppings. It seemed really popular as the restaurant was full, so perhaps I’ll try something else one day, but no strong desire to go back any time soon. Service was ok, had to flag someone down to order, food came quickly though.

Rau Bistro is undoubtedly one of Calgary's best contemporary Vietnamese restaurants. It is a perfect fusion of both modern and traditional elements, resulting in dishes that are creative, delicious, and carefully executed every time.

It's menu offers a lot of options, and it is well-executed in the breadth of dishes they offer from soups, dry noodles, desserts, to drinks.

It's consistency and comfortable setting have made this place a staple for myself, family, and friends.

Such a cute Vietnamese restaurant with authentic food that I grew up with! We have always ordered through Uber from this place but this was my first time in restaurant with friends. We ordered the 7 course beef and Fondue #1. We LOVED the salads but really, EVERYTHING was delicious! The coconut jello was such a refreshing finish to the meal.

My favorite pho restaurant in Calgary!! The soup is delicious. The fried food is especially recommended. Crispy.

Hmm…. Foods looks fabulous and tastes really good. A little bit pricier than other pho places, but I think it’s worth the price. Friendly servers, but when we walked in at 9pm, she told us that we only 5 mins to order before the kitchen closes, but their restaurant open till 11pm, and there are 2 other tables of customers just came in…..? Later when we got our foods she apologized that she has the time mixed up. That’s fine. The waitress seem surprised when I asked for some small plates to share and forks for all my caucasian friends. But she was nice and fulfilled the request. Anyway, everybody on my table enjoyed their foods/drinks/desserts very much. Definitely would come back again to try other items on their menu.
*Just little reminder, the heat in the restaurant was really hot. I was sweating the whole time. May be I was just sitting under the vent.

Rau Bistro is my favourite neighbourhood Vietnamese joint. The Banana Flower Salad is exquisite - with its unique texture and refreshing orange and passionfruit sauce - topped with their delicious house made chili sauce. The La Lot Beef appetizer is always on point, accompanied by the fresh herbs and mini vermicelli wraps. Hubby and I are also big fans of their vermicelli bowls, and I love the tamarind peanut soda drink. The food is consistently amazing and it nourishes the soul. We also love the warm atmosphere and friendly service. 10/10!

Update: After subsequent visits to Rau, they continue to exceed expectations with quality food and excellent service. Must try their lychee bubble tea - wow!!!
