I’ve been all over the world and the regal beagle has the best buffalo sauce I’ve ever had. The atmosphere here is cozy Canadiana, the service (especially from our server Lindsay) is impeccable, the house beers are awesome, what else can I say? One of the best bars in the south of Calgary!

It's just a great low-key pub, it's a bit dark but the staff are awesome and the food is priced really well. Can't beat their steak sandwich lunch special everyday. Probably one of the better lunches in the city for under 20 that is an eat in establishment

The boyfriend and I were headed out for date night and went to our fave spot, The Winkin’ Owl. We forgot they had a live band and the sound was so loud it was uncomfortable to say the least. The band itself was phenomenal but the volume was so extreme, it was more for an elderly couple whom struggles to hear and not for fully functioning ears that didn’t want to scream over a short table at one another.
We figured, let’s try something new. We pulled into the parking lot which was clean and well maintained. We walked to the front door and had a very well kept elderly man say, “come on in to the best looking couple I’ve seen in awhile.”
We walked into a very nice vibe with classic music and an MC we later found out to be a man named Travis. We sat at a table near the entrance and were soon greeted by a stunning server we later learned, named Jasmine.
Jasmine was very attentive, knowledgeable, and personal.
The boyfriend ordered Mac and cheese bites to start. He likes his KD lol. I can’t stand KD but the bites were actually great and the chipotle dip was delicious.
I ordered a half order of nachos with ground beef and extra cheese, no olives. The boyfriend had a double decker burger with sautéed onions, jalapeños, donair meat, and an egg with a tater tot poutine.
I didn’t get to try his burger because that disappeared quickly, but the tater tot I grabbed from his poutine was fantastic.
My nachos were perfect and I was happy.
MC Travis was very in tune with the crowd and noticed I was looking at a wheel on the stage and wondered what people were stamping at their tables. There was a music bingo happening and he asked if we wanted to play. Absolutely we did. Sounded fun. He had cards and dabbers brought over and we joined in the game.
We didn’t win but had a blast playing while we enjoyed our meal.
We finished eating and I asked Jasmine for a to go box. She was amazing a grabbed a pizza box with to go ramekin lids for the sour cream and salsa.
** This is a smart server!! A customer should never have to ask for lids to ramekins to bring home. **
We did not once have to ask for ketchup, salt, pepper, side plates, napkins, cutlery, extra napkins, etc. Jasmine checked on us multiple times throughout our meal without being intrusive and was the prime example of what a server should be.
Hats off to this entire crew!! They’re amazing!
All servers in Calgary should be trained like Jasmine. Great job doll!! You rocked it!!
Oh!! And I went to the bathroom before we left and OMG their bathroom was fully stocked, clean, and beautiful!!

I think the bartender gave us coffee from the day before, that ish was coooooold, understandable at night, but in the morning? Been a few times, against my will. Seen a kid running around behind the bar before. Nobody working seems like they want to be there. Taps are dirty too.

Ordered a steak sandwich with mushrooms and onions, steak came plain. Asked for ketchup, fries were eating before she finally remembered. Asked for a beer, took 15 minutes and me asking again. Normally service is amazing. Tonight service was pathetic. Extremely disappointed

So this was a great little pub! This was our regular neighbourhood pub, This was as our “go to” place… however I have been there 2 times recently and the service is horrendous!!
1st time we sat for 40 min waiting to be approached by a server. I eventually had to go ask the bartender if they had a waitress. It wasn’t busy there were maybe 2 other tables.
2nd time we sat on the outdoor patio, immediately made contact with the server. Again there was one other table and us. She proceeded to walk past us with empty hands, she stopped and let us know she would be back with menus, never once took a drink order, she walked past multiple times with empty hands. When she started wiping the table beside us we left!!
The food is decent, but the servers at this pub are completely useless! Time to clean house and hire proper staff!

Really loved the ambiance here, would visit again. Booking a table was easy, went to see a playoff game and stated so when booking, table was ready, chosen so we had good view of screens, and service was excellent and courteous throughout our eve there. Tried some new wings, everything was delish. Overall had a really pleasant eve, except the Oilers lost!

Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience at this location today. Our waitress, emily, was LOVELY but the manager and kitchen staff were not. They were quite unprofessional. My family and I were sitting eating our meals on the patio when someone from the kitchen staff came out the back door. They proceeded to make most disgusting, guttural sounds to hauk up whatever he had in his throat. He then made eye contact with me as I sat back from the table and stopped eating. This ruined my whole experience here. I was so grossed out, this actually had ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. I then asked what they could do for us regarding the bill and the manager came out to speak with me. He was quite unprofessional in our conversation. He believed he had done due diligence by speaking with the kitchen staff and when I asked about compensation he said that he would “not be able to explain the (possible) discount” to the owner and refused to compensate us in any way. I am saddened to know that I will not be coming back to this location as this experience was disappointing. I want to mention that our waitress was very apologetic about this, but the manager was not.
