Didn’t even attend Sub Rosa but was attending a corporate event at Hudson Event centre right next to it. Regardless, every time we would exit our event centre for a breath or something, the doorman would make snarky remarks at us and even moved the barricade so it was blocking our entrance to the venue we were at which was not even Sub Rosa. We weren’t intoxicated or anything, truly just a young man on a power trip.

Was very shocked and taken back but how rudely the woman at the front checking tickets thinks she is able to speak to costumers. Extremely disrespectful and really reflects on the establishment as a whole. We went in for an event and we let her know we were on the guest list and provided my partners name and my name. She looks over at me and says what’s your name I give it to her and she’s continues NOO WHATS YOUR NAME. And speaks to me like I’m the world’s dumbest human. My partner had to step in and again say what we had just told her, my name for the third time and she was not understanding. It was on the list she was just abruptly rude and arrogant. Would never go back.

I've been a regular here for so long and usually have an awesome time, but our last visit was disappointing. We were so stoked to see Gene Farris, but the sound was seriously off. The music even cut out a couple of times, which totally killed the vibe and we ended up leaving early. When you book big names like that, the setup needs to be on point to match the talent!
Also, the bathrooms could use some serious TLC. I really hope you guys sort things out because I love this place, but this last experience wasn't great at all

This was my 2nd spontaneous evening ending up at this gem. The vibe of this club is so sexy, the lighting is very dark, the dance floor is a good size, the seating is very comfortable and there are plenty couches to relax at and take a break. Both djs we saw were phenomenal!! Highly recommend! A little pricy for cover but honestly worth it!!! Thanks for the memories
My only suggestion is to please maybe have a water dispenser on the side for those of us who don't partake in consumption of the alcoholic variety, so we don't have to feel like such an inconvenience to your bartender! Thank you :-)

The busy level is random, but they often get high profile DJs in there, and guaranteed it's busy and bumping in there. There's a wider age range out there on the dance floor, it's a super nice venue, and people's dress attire and civility seem to follow suit, while still letting loose and having fun. A unique place we need more of 👌
Rusa, the coat check lady, is another level of service and greeting at this location. She always brings joy to me, and I always look forward to seeing her. She is extremely competent in her work and memorizes way more than people realize. She's fabulous!
Security here is top notch, and they are good-looking on average. They remember who guests are if you step out for a smoke. Very good at paying attention. I lost my glasses exiting last time, and they would not allow us both to enter to find them. I had to stand outside, unable to see, alone, and this did make me a bit emotional. I was perfectly safe, but I felt like an idiot and was truly embarrassed. I wish they would have just let me stand inside the door. I understand there are rules but I couldn't see and I was scared.
When there are special events and the back bar is open, be aware that it may cost more to purchase alcohol there. I was notified of this by my date at the last event. I think it's fine but if you don't want to pay the extra go to the main bar by the entrance.
Bathrooms are unisex, but individual stalls. Never had any problems other than the occasional smell. I always get lots of compliments from others. Lovely vibe, and everyone is super nice. I actually prefer this over separated gendered bathrooms now.
Music and beats are always great on the weekend. I always want more of a light show than what I get, but that's just me. For artists who play a bit heavier and who would want it, that would just elevate the experience to another level.
If you notice everything is reserved for seating, there is one shared spot near the front right you can sit if you need it so you don't have to leave. This is where I sometimes crash for a moment.
Everything said, this is my fav spot to go dancing atm. Shout out to the amazing lady who checks us all in for Beehive. She does quick work of a difficult job. I appreciate her very much. She makes quick work of what most of us could not do.

I like this bar now! It has had some pretty huge changes made to the atmosphere over the past few years. The dance floor has been moved a bunch of times, but its in the right place now! The sound system is intense- it's PK sound! Don't forget your hearing protection! It pounds!! It has all really came together now and the place has a great flow from the door to the stage! I always enjoy the events here <3

OUTSTANDING location for house music, nice underground feel, great vibe at weekend event, cool and fun. Long weekend and what's better than Saturday night dancing with Mark Farina and local favourites Jon Delerious with Matt Caine – SO GOOD! If you're a fan of house music, you have found your home, you're going to love it here. Mikey De Roza has done an excellent job since taking over this space 2 years ago – open, nice layout and furniture, great dance floor and nice washroom! The owner is a DJ so you know the sound and his guests will be top shelf. I also really appreciated the kind, patient and professional security – it makes a difference and adds to the good vibe. Well done, this is an excellent venue and I can't wait to go again.

I had the privilege of experiencing the Lavern DJ show at Sub Rosa, and it was phenomenal. Hari, the Assistant Manager, was a consummate professional, ensuring our bottle service evening exceeded all expectations. The classy venue, combined with the excellent staff, made for an exciting evening. I will definitely be back!
