Had barbecue here before, which was OK, so wanted to give the hotpot a try with my husband. The selections were very limited, and the server refused to apply the coupon they issued while it's still valid. Worst of all, the foods were not fresh, both my husband and I suffered from diarrhea later that day and the following day. Would not return.

Been here when it’s first opened, the owner is very busy, no service at all, and messed up with order. But price is reasonable.

I had a wonderful experience at The Boss Is Very Busy for lunch today. I had just got my licence renewed at the registry in this strip on 10th Ave SW north of Co-op when this place caught my eye. It is NE Chinese barbecue though I didn't get any barbecue, got three items for takeout as I only live a couple of blocks away. Two were absolute winners: The baked eggplant with a very spicy sauce and the "dry tofu with chili sauce," which was an amazing concoction that looks like noodles. I combined these two and they were stunningly good! The eggplant is sauced with a veritable tonne of garlic and chilies and was just stunning, and next time I go I will just order these two. Less to my taste but still lovely was the special cold noodles. It was a bowl with a springy noodle that looks like soba but is nothing like it texturally; it's more like the Korean noodles made from bean starch and it's not my fave, but the accompanying broth was TO DIE FOR, had umami like tomato water (if you haven't had this, look for it or make it yourself) and I drank every drop. The server was just a delight, young woman from Hong Kong which is very, very far from the origin of this style of food but she knew everything about it and we had a lovely chat.

Great food and service! We came with a very large group of people and ordered a lot of food, everything was great and the service was very fast. The quality of the Karaoke in the private room was great. So many varieties songs to choose from. Will definetly recommend and will come back.

I like this restaurant! They offer fantastic food, they have a nice menu, it is so special for the nine patch hot spot soup . The chef in that spot is a professional, I enjoy a lot tasting all their food. The food is always of high qualtity, the attitude towards the clients is helpful. I often eat in this place and Can sing Karaoke in the same time. I recommend this place.

Visiting registry midtown office today and see there is Chinese BBQ Place beside . First Impressions looked good and was excited to try out. The food was really good and everything was cooked perfectly. Spicy level can adjust according to your tolerance. Overall it’s a great place that I’d recommend to anyone living or visiting Calgary.

When it first reopened, during the soft opening phase it was very busy and slow for the food to show up. Like extremely slow. I think that’s what’s caused them to suffer the low score right now on Google. Now everything‘s on good track, great service and good speed. Just to be fair, they have the most reasonable price for authentic northern China BBQ in town. And come on, you get FREE karaoke in private rooms when you eat there, what else do you want from them? It’s not for everyone to be honest, for someone like me growing up in Northern China this is what I’m used to, this is what I crave for. But for those who didn’t have much experience before, it’s a love hate 50 50 chance.

We waited 2 hours for our food to come. Food was just okay, not worth the wait. The owner is indeed very busy... we received no service at all. It is also in the lobby of a KTV so the our dining experience was accompanied by people singing the whole time. Overprice for the food and portion. I won't be coming back.
