I'm not so big on 5 stars until I know a spot... this place does drinks and cocktails on a level that is rare, a fifth star is likely on its way.... Smoked Old Fashioned is my fav, but the cocktail list has a few gems. Decor is classic Calgary celebrating its history - to the informed eye there are many historic treasures. Already looking forward to my next visit....

Highly recommended spot in Calgary. This place became one of the highlights of my trip — great food, excellent service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The cocktails are especially well-crafted, and the presentation adds a fun touch to the experience. A lovely place to visit whether you’re exploring the city or looking for a comfortable spot to enjoy a good meal. Everyone should stop by at least once.

All I can say is WOW! This was the best service I have ever had in a restaurant! PJ (Our waiter) knew his stuff! From the drinks to the food and everything in between, he was amazing! Very personable and was a pleasure to have him as our server. For someone (me) who has never had a martini, he made me an amazing martini and who knew... I like them! The chicken burger he recommended with hot honey.... so good! Will definitely be back!! Hope his manager or boss sees this guy's potential for management!!

We were 'time challenged' and they served our food practically instantaneous! Made it to the theatre on time thanks to them. Food was awesome too.

What an experence. Daniel the manager meet us walking by, invited us in, made sure we had seats ( Very Busy Place ). The Bartenders were top notch and friendly.
The duck is to die for!
Make sure you stop here and ask for Daniel.

My friends and I came on Halloween night, the place was completely empty due to them not showing the Jays game but we just wanted to find anywhere with space to eat, and quite frankly I think we hit the jackpot. First of all, Laurell (I hope I’m spelling that right), our server, was an absolute delight! She was super friendly, had great recommendations, and just had the best energy! We really enjoyed chatting with her! Second of all, the gin selection is amazing! They have the best from both local and international distilleries at multiple price points, for all to enjoy. And finally, the food was excellent! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious! Very juicy with a really good sauce that had just a little kick. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you get the chance! The vibes, service, and food are all immaculate!

I’d like to take a moment to thank Nathan Newman, Nathan Bueckert and the wonderful staff at The Derrick Gin Mill & Kitchen.

On Saturday October 25th we held a “The Celebration Of Life” for the passing of my cousin Avery, the team was incredibly kind and sensitive to our situation.

From the ambiance of a pleasant relaxing setting, to the infusions and culinary appetizers that were prepared to perfection, I would highly recommend any dish.

Our servers were very attentive through-out the presentation and in-turn created a great experience.

In Closing - the team was very professional, understanding, accommodating and respectful that provided a warm understanding given the circumstance.

This is an amazing establishment that I highly endorse visiting!!!

Food was OK. I felt like the burger had potential but needed a more flavourful sauce. It was a smoked burger which you could definitely taste the smoke but it needed something else to balance its strength. Pricier end for lunch, very cool vibe inside.

I've never had bone marrow or duck in my life... absolutely flawless. The drinks were out of this world, so much went into every single one. Our server was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. This place is amazing! I don't know how it wasn't absolutely packed. This is one of the few secret gems of Calgary!

Nate and Korean bartender knowledgeable on gins. Nate gave me an exploration of gins once I told him my favorites. The Japanese gin Peddlers is very celery forward, new to me, and i enjoyed. The Martin Miller's gin was lemon, some other citrus and olive branch. The Sheringham Vancouver gin was sharp, clean with a hint of olive. If you seek an olive forward flavor, Gin Mare is for you. This is a terrific bar.

The grilled broccoli salad was not good. The duck breast was ok. Slices were very thick, which is i am not used to.
