The Derrick Gin Mill & Kitchen

Food was OK. I felt like the burger had potential but needed a more flavourful sauce. It was a smoked burger which you could definitely taste the smoke but it needed something else to balance its strength. Pricier end for lunch, very cool vibe inside.

I've never had bone marrow or duck in my life... absolutely flawless. The drinks were out of this world, so much went into every single one. Our server was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. This place is amazing! I don't know how it wasn't absolutely packed. This is one of the few secret gems of Calgary!

Nate and Korean bartender knowledgeable on gins. Nate gave me an exploration of gins once I told him my favorites. The Japanese gin Peddlers is very celery forward, new to me, and i enjoyed. The Martin Miller's gin was lemon, some other citrus and olive branch. The Sheringham Vancouver gin was sharp, clean with a hint of olive. If you seek an olive forward flavor, Gin Mare is for you. This is a terrific bar.

The grilled broccoli salad was not good. The duck breast was ok. Slices were very thick, which is i am not used to.

We used to come to The Derrick many years ago and always enjoyed it. It's such a unique place, and what truly stands out—besides the great food—is the exceptional service. I really appreciated how well the wait staff worked together as a team. The service we received was outstanding—some of the best we've had in a long time. Awesome gin dessert!

Hosted a company Stampede Party for 50-60 people and everything went off without a hitch. High praise from the guests about the venue, staff and food. Very reasonable price compared to similar in the area and the management made sure we were prepared going in. Definitely recommend hosting a corporate party here.

We work within a block of the Derrick and have visited often over the past 2 years. I take clients there from time to time, but mostly we go as a team from the office. The past few visits have been less than great, the service and the atmosphere are nice, but the food has not been to the same standard from 6 months ago. People I was there with barely touched the food after the first bite. Some said the spice was so overpowering that they could not taste anything. We informed the staff the food was not great, no real response, just a blank stare. These dishes were not like this 6 months ago, I don't know what changed in the kitchen, but they should revisit. With our plates untouched I asked for the bill, they looked at the plates and gave us the bill. I paid the bill for the last time. Best of luck

Was going to order a club soda, but last minute said I would try a cocktail without looking at the menu....

My non-alcoholic drink was 14$, that was a shock at the bill

The minimum tip option at 20% was not well recieved

The brussel sprouts and poutine appetizer (got full size) were nice but small. The Caesar salad was excellent and the lamb main plate was tasty. The beet salad with salmon was average but good.
