We visit Calgary every few years and we go to the Guild every time. The food is incredible and the restaurant is stunning.
My steak seasoning was fantastic. Unfortunately it was put on the fattiest grisliest piece of ribeye I've ever had in my life. Sorry. I really wanted to enjoy it but did not. The service and ambience were exceptional.
Host took over 20 minutes to seat us but once we were seated, our server went above and beyond. As this was our first time, our server made great recommendations for us. Our food came out all at once as requested, and everything was came out hot and delicious. We will definitely be back!
Lovely service, basic and bad food. Over priced for what you get. Go somewhere else. Seriously.
Everything about this establishment was amazing, the food and drinks were top notch, I'd highly recommend to everyone.
Disappointed Birthday Lunch at The Guild – No Follow‑Up On June 2, I brought my husband to The Guild for his birthday lunch—a place I'd been excited to try based on strong recommendations. We were seated promptly and greeted warmly, with water served immediately. However, after 20 minutes, we realized our server had not returned to take our order, even though she knew we were on a tight lunch-time schedule downtown. By the 25-minute mark, I approached her to let her know we were ready to order. She came over quickly, but her tone was curt and she clearly seemed unhappy that I had spoken up. We intended to enjoy a starter and dessert in addition to our mains, but our delay left only enough time to order entrees. Fortunately, the food arrived promptly, served by the manager rather than our server. After we finished eating, the server still hadn't returned—at that point it was only time to request our check. This whole experience left a poor impression. I generally reserve reviews for positive experiences, as most restaurants I visit deliver. But this time, I felt it necessary to provide feedback directly to management. On the same day, I called the restaurant but received no answer, so I sent a message through OpenTable (where I'd made our reservation). Someone replied that a manager would contact me. Later that evening, the manager called—though I missed his name—and he listened carefully. I emphasized that I wasn't seeking compensation, only that he be made aware of our experience so improvements could be made. He assured me he would investigate, speak with the staff member and the shift manager, and personally follow up. He also expressed a desire to invite us back to experience the service we should have had. That call was on June 2. It's now June 20, and despite my follow-up attempts by phone and another OpenTable message, I haven't heard anything further from the restaurant. There is so many options on Stephen Avenue, on this day I chose poorly.
Great place. We ordered the almost $200 tomahawk and it did not disappoint. Expensive but worth it once in a while. It would be really great to go here in a larger group so you could try multiple steaks and sides! Service was just right. Not over attentive but there when we needed it. Sadly I wasn't able to try the cocktails but my wife got a zero proof spritz which was delicious. The pull apart bread is a must! The garlic butter with green onion is unreal. Overall top notch stuff!
Food was great. Patio seating available even on a warm Saturday evening. Amazing service from Connor.
Food was good, our 18 oz steak was definitely smaller than 18oz. The Mac and cheese bites were really good. Sat on the patio and it was terrible. Cigarette and weed smoke everywhere and the amount of homeless people zonked out laying on the ground nearby was insane. Wont be back based on that alone.
Overall our experience was good, however, our server Reed was not the best and we could never get his attention that the spinach dip that came out was inedible as it was so salty. But for Happy Hour I would give it another try.

Absolutely amazing dinner, I am personally a very picky eater and I ate my whole plate! Our waitress Sam was also fantastic and made our dining experience amazing 10/10! Will be returning!!!
We had a fantastic experience at The Guild! The food was outstanding, and our server, Konnar, was equally impressive. He managed our large group with ease—efficient, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Everyone at the table was thrilled with both the service and the meal. We all agreed we'll definitely be coming back soon!
Food was excellent and our server, Nick, was exceptionally helpful and effective. Thank you.
The food and drinks were delicious and plated beautifully. Conner the server was absolutely amazing and one of the best servers we have ever had. He was so attentive and remembered it was out special day.
Great place for proper dry aged steak, as well as other delicious menu items.
