The meal was excellent, and the chef who prepared dessert tableside was absolutely fabulous. However, we were very surprised by the lack of knowledge and service from our waiter. We asked several questions about the menu, and he did not seem to understand and was unable to answer any questions about the food. 
The Highwood is a sophisticated, student-run restaurant, and constructive feedback is important for learning. Unfortunately, my first visit was not fully satisfactory. We were a group of four. The complimentary appetizer was appreciated and flavorful. The onion soup was excellent, but the soup of the day was overly salty, with little lobster flavour, and left me feeling unwell.
