Had a wonderful stay here, especially thanks to the attentive staff. A special mention to Mary who made our stay memorable - she was kind and generous, and we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome to the start of our holiday. Thank you!
Enjoyed my recent stay at the Westin Downtown Calgary. The business tower was great and the recently renovated pool as a great escape. Highly recommend.
The service at the front door is superb ! Michelle is really excellent at her job, gave us a map and recommendations on places we could visit, she is so nice that I will stay at these hotel again. Beds and pillows are excellent and overall cleanliness is great!
Hotels amazing. Rooms are dated but the beds are comfy and I love the signature Weston smell! Service is also above optimal!
Flew in from Toronto and booked this hotel specifically for the pool so that my three kids can swim. Front desk says it's heated. Upon arrival, it's like swimming in Ice water. Don't be fooled. POOL IS NOT HEATED. ITS FREEZING
I had an outstanding two-night stay at The Westin Calgary. The service was consistently polite, attentive, and engaging, making me feel truly welcome. What impressed me most were the amenities—the rooftop pool and sauna were fantastic, and the modern, well-equipped gym was one of the best I’ve seen in a hotel.
Having The Keg and Starbucks conveniently located on-site is a huge plus, both for quality and accessibility. I also appreciated how easy it was to store my golf clubs and suitcase after checkout; the staff made the process seamless while I attended meetings. And of course, the Heavenly Bed lived up to its reputation—an incredibly comfortable sleep.
If I had to point out one small drawback, it would be the bathroom in my room, which felt a little cramped. But that minor detail hardly detracted from an otherwise exceptional experience.
I left impressed and will definitely be returning.
Super hotel. Exceptional helpful and welcoming. I arrived a lot earlier than expected so as about an early check in . The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent room very happy. The Starbucks in the lobby is a bonus
Good location close to both major shops, restaurants and the waterfront all within walking distance.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We booked a suit it was a good size, bathroom was also a great size, double sinks, separate bath and good size shower.
The hotel is now pretty old (approx60yrs) so despite being very clean it is very outdated.
Great experience! They gave us a complimentary breakfast as we were celebrating something special, which was super nice. Parking was convenient and the location was great with tons of amenities and lovely restaurants nearby.
Great hotel with very nice amenities! Very close to everything and easy access to the downtown core offices. Highly recommended!

My stay at The Westin Calgary Downtown was nothing short of phenomenal! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like royalty—Bless at the front desk greeted me with such warmth and efficiency, ensuring a seamless check-in. The room was a dream: spacious, impeccably clean, and those heavenly beds lived up to their name, offering the best sleep I’ve had in ages. The marble bathroom was luxurious, and the view of downtown Calgary was a delightful bonus. The hotel’s location is perfect—steps away from the vibrant river walk and Prince’s Island Park, making it easy to explore the city. I loved the 24-hour kitchen service; ordering a late-night snack was a game-changer after a long day. The entire team, from the bell staff to the breakfast crew, was incredibly attentive and genuinely kind, elevating the experience to a whole new level. Whether you’re in Calgary for business or pleasure, The Westin delivers top-notch comfort and service. I can’t wait to return—absolutely a five-star gem!
Loved everything about this hotel. First time in Calgary and I’m happy I stayed here
Everything was excellent except for the pool. It felt like taking an Arctic plunge. TURN ON THE HEAT PLEASE! Spent all that renovation money to make the pool area beautiful but don't heat the pool. SMH. I had to take a long hot shower after swimming in that. Do better.
Wonderful smell upon entering the lobby. Asked and was told it was their White Tea scent. Bathroom amenities have the same smell. Small but clean and stylish rooms. Amazing bed. Fantastic pool. Keg and Starbucks adjoining the hotel. Took too long to check in. Their was an Elite member desk so I didn't go there and found out he was taking regular patrons. Would have been nice to know that instead of having 5 other guests pass me while I was waiting in the other line. I feel that Reception should have noticed and asked me to come over. Check out is noon so that's another plus. I didn't rate it as a 5 because of the long wait at reception and size of the room.
The service here was great and very friendly. First impression were really good, but this property is really shabby and desperately needs a refresh. Additionally, the breakfast situation was poor and awkward.
The room (923) I received was dingy. The couch was supremely uncomfortable, very cheap, and dirty. The bed sheets were not very clean. I felt something like a pebble/grain of sand when I got into bed. The room faintly smelled of cigarette smoke. The armchair in the room was also really dirty and stained. There was dust on the bedside tables and the carpet in the 9th floor hallway is riddled with massive unsightly stains. The room is not quiet and I could hear the guests in the room next to me talking, sneezing, etc. The toilet in my room would barely flush, and the shower was really uncomfortably narrow.
I was rewarded with free breakfast since I am a Bonvoy Elite member, but if I had paid $31 for the buffet I would have been sorely disappointed. As a free buffet, it’s not too bad, but it was incredibly basic. The bacon was really chewy and the scrambled eggs are of the liquid eggs/boxed egg variety. They were spongy and watery. There are servers that bring you coffee or juice. I would have rather been able to get it myself since the food is self-service, it feels awkward that the drinks are served. Then am I supposed to tip the server who was only there to grab a coffee for me? Speaking of the coffee, it was burned and gross. If I had gone anywhere in Calgary and paid $31 for that breakfast experience I would have been really upset and felt ripped off.
Lastly, my key card stopped working at 11am, when check out is at 12pm.
Ya’ll need to really up your game.
I’d look at other options in town before choosing The Westen Calgary.
