We try to get to Thompson's patio for Canada Day as it's our favourite place to sit and watch the festivities go by! We love this patio. It's quiet and there are lots of umbrellas. The staff are amazing- consistently kind, knowledgeable, attentive and have a way of making us feel truly welcomed. The food is quality with nice portion sizes and great selection. I'm so happy we got to spend a couple of hours there again this year. It's our tradition!

Brilliant place to eat before theatre. Yhe pre theatre menu was themed around legally Blonde. Such a good idea. Busy for a Friday night. Staff were helpful and friendly. Only one thing to mention, would have like to have the cocktail before the meal arrived

The server was not great today as it has been it the past. The server never mentioned egg Benedict, we only knew because we have been here before. So then when we ordered it must have been delayed as it didn't come till the end when we were all done. He hardly came to check on us or ask for refills of coffee or water. We had to get another server to fill our coffees and water. Food was great though.

Service, food was outstanding. I wish I had got the name of the gentleman that served us, he was very attentive and great. Red sangria was fabulous! I had the House made gluten free Gnocci and my husband had the Bison Short rib Flatbread. Both were extremely tasty. Definitely recommend

Brunch buffet was way over priced for the quality. The warm breakfast items were cold and eggs were under cooked. Dessert selection was limited. Servers were grouchy and unfriendly. Way over priced for what the options were and the service.

A nice restaurant with quick efficient service and tasty food. The business lunch is a good deal with a dessert as well. The restaurant is very quiet and doesn't echo so you can actually have a conversation at your table, which is great.

Went for pre-theatre dinner. Love their 3-course themed set dinner menu that is inspired by the current Theatre Calgary production. Very creative and fun! This is our second time dining here prior to our shows and the food and service have been excellent. We will be coming back!

The food was very good but $12 for a piece of chicken to be added to your salad is a little steep. It was very busy and noisy on this night.

I have been going to Thomson's for many years. In all cases, they would validate my $35 parking for downstairs. Today, however, after a 2 hour strategy session with the team and paying for drinks, Maria the Manager would not validate the parking. I only drink tequila and had a couple during the meeting. I ordered one more to take to the event that was in Thomson's in the next room over. She said that she could not validate the pass because she could not confirm that I would not purchase drinks at the other event. I had already given away my free tickets that would be for wine/beer, because I do not drink either. If I was going to have another drink of tequila, I would have had to come back to the bar to purchase another one. That is also something that I have done at the InterGen events in the past without issue. She insisted that if I wanted it validated, I would need to leave right away and not attend the event. I said, fine. I was not going to pay an additional $35 for parking after spending premium $$ for premium beverages. At that time, I asked for the validation ticket. She then revealed that she could not give me a ticket because the machine was down. She needed my name so that I could exit the garage. Now, was that the truth!?! That the machine was down! Absolutely NO critical thinking! I am re-thinking my support for Thomson's. The Hyatt's service has gone down hill with the new owner. Maria should go!

They have a great ‘executive express’ lunch that features a main with soup/salad/fries and a dessert. The restaurant is quite small though, so you probably always need a reservation and you might not have much luck with the walk in dinning. Our server was exceptionally friendly.

Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available

Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options for celiac

Food is not worth the price. I ordered a steak sandwich and it was the worst I have ever had. They definitely don't know how to cook steak. It was stilling mooing and my next one was so rough i couldn't cut through it with my knife. A few of the other items were decent but nothing I would come back for. Waitresses were mediocre and didn't listen. The venue was beautifully decorated but that's honestly the only good thing I have to say.

We decided to try their Sunday brunch buffet for a special occasion event and they did not disappoint!

As they're part of the Hyatt Hotel they had beautiful Christmas decor which made the place look really nice.
We received friendly service through the entire meal, although they forgot our drinks orders a few times and couldn't be found for a long time at one point.
Their selection of food was excellent, with clear labels in front stating allergens or lack of. I actually found many items were gluten and dairy free, which is great for those with intolerances. They also constantly replaced empty plates/trays so there was always freshly prepped food out.
They had the usual breakfast items like scrambled eggs, omelettes made to order, sausages etc, and they also have eggs benedict's made to order, followed by a carvery station featuring med rare striploin roast, seafood like jumbo shrimp and Atlantic smoked salmon, then the charcuterie board with lots of pickled items, cured meats and cheeses. The highlight dishes for me were definitely the plump jumbo shrimp and the tender smoked salmon- the salmon tasted like it was made in house, it was far better than any store bought one I've ever had!

For hot foods they had corn chowder which was delicious and creamy, variety of vegetable dishes, fish and more.

Their desserts selection was smaller but still a good variety. I loved their mini tres leches pots.

The price was $45/pp which is on the higher side for a lunch/brunch buffet but the quality and variety of food was excellent so it was worth it for us! I can't wait to go back for another celebratory meal!

Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options were available

Dietary restrictions: Their foods had clear labels stating any potential allergens or lack of. Eg gluten free, dairy free etc.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly and family friendly. We saw many families there with young children and they had high chairs available too.

Wheelchair accessibility: On ground floor of Stephen ave, and lots of space in the dining areas.
