Overpriced salty food with tiny portions. The katsu was so greasy and hard from it being overcooked and gave me a stomach ache right after which has me glad I didn’t order anything raw from here.

We came for their happy hour between 2-5pm daily, 1.50 sushi/sashimi.
It was standard taste for sushi. Only negative is our food took a really long time to come out with only one extra table besides ours. Our waitress was very nice. I give 3.5/5 overall

The sushi there was... Interesting (coming from a Japanese). My friend ordered an unagi, toro, and salmon sushi, and the toro was not what we expected. It didn't really look like toro, but it did taste like toro. The salmon was alright except it had pepper on it which was definitely unnecessary. We're still not familiar with the average price ranges of sushis and food in Calgary but one sushi for ~$3.7 felt too expensive.

Awful service. I got seated by the chef, and he gave me the menu. Then I got ignored by the server for the next 30 mins with no water or stopping by to check in or take order.

5 star for food
Fresh sashimi. Creative special rolls - the combinations are done perfectly, with detail and top ingredients (not stuffers)

This is a casual little Japanese spot in Chinatown, they have a huge menu ranging from sushi, ramen to bento boxes. Their furniture is a little dated but it's a good spot to go to when you're craving some Japanese food.
From 2pm to 4pm they have happy hour where selected sashimi and sushi are only $1.50 each!!
I was happy with the quality and taste of the food but above all the service was EXCELLENT! Staff went above and beyond to cater to customer needs and was super friendly and accommodating. They get 5 stars for that alone.

Visited during their happy hour (2-5 pm) where select sushi and sashimi is $1.50. It’s really good value! Our server was so helpful and sweet. The only thing I didn’t like was the yam avocado roll because the yam was still a little raw. If you’re looking for a good deal, this is the place to go!

Very poor service. Slower than you can imagine. Won’t go again.
Worst restaurant ever. This is the first time I did not pay tips.

Tokachi is a hidden gem for great Japanese food! I can never resist their California roll, ramens are great too, and the daily happy hour deals are awesome.

One of my favorite sushi places as they have very reasonable prices and decent service that has always been quick , parking can be a bit tricky as it's hard to come by on the dt streets but I'm definitely a return customer ?

always satisfied with this place!!! we have nothing to complain or worry about whenever we leave this place ?.
the first 3 pictures are from the previous visit, and the last two pictures and the video was from our recent visit there! it was our second time going back, and we’ve truly enjoyed trying out new dish everytime we go back.
the sushi rolls are so delicious that we ordered 3 plates last time, and one big plate this time! they always feel so freshly made, and full ?.
the servers are always smiling and has a nice attitude which makes us feel so appreciated as customers, and the server we had when we first went there did not hesitate to help us when we were confused with the menu.
although there is no parking spot near there, we parked at the spot near the bow river, and paid for 1.5 hours :).
will recommend to everyone who wants to try freshly made sushi rolls, and well cooked ramen!! will go back???
