Wow, what a special time we had at Sauvage! It was the most excellent way to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. From the moment we were greeted at the door, we were in for a magical evening. The Hunter tasting menu was very creative and delicious, every dish was so good, and each of the unique foods and flavours were balanced perfectly. A truly special culinary experience. The attention to all the details (music, atmosphere, beautiful dishes, amazing chef-created food, etc.)...
We went to Sauvage to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We did the tasting menu plus the two add-on dishes. The food was very good, aside from one of the add-ons which was basically a plate of foamy cheese with about four small croutons, not enough to really enjoy the dish. I will say though, I got the juice pairing and it was a thoroughly unenjoyable experience. Almost every juice was a similar very savoury drink to compliment the dish, except it was like drinking broth or vegetable...
This is a charming restaurant located in a secluded area. If you enjoy culinary experimentation, this is an ideal destination. The owner-chef is highly creative and utilizes natural ingredients. The service is exceptional, and the food is truly remarkable. While it may be a slight distance from Calgary, the experience is well worth the effort.
